First of all, we have to say that Audi is changing very fast the face of the RS 5, but we have to admit that it is a step forward. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the 2012 Audi RS 5 Facelift! As you can see, the vehicle receives the new design language seen on the A5/S5 Coupe, Cabriolet and Sportback but unfortunately this is the only improvement brought to the new model. Why? Because the RS 5 Facelift offers the same 4.2-liter V8 engine delivering 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250 rpm and 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) available between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm.
With these numbers, the car can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 to 280 km/h (155.34 to 173.98 mph) upon request. The large diffuser extends far upward, and the spoiler in the rear hatch extends automatically at 120 km/h (74.56 mph). The engine is mated to the standard seven-speed S tronic also contributes to the good fuel economy.
Moreover, we find the quattro permanent all-wheel drive that can vary the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles lightning-fast and over a wide range, with up to 70 percent flowing to the front or as much as 85 percent to the rear. Just like the “old” RS 5, the new model will offer newly designed 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with 265/35-series tires as standard, while the 20-inch wheels with 275/30-series tires are available as an option. Behind these wheels we find large, internally ventilated wave brake discs, with the front discs measuring 365 millimeters (14.37 in) in diameter.
