As expected, Bmw unveiled today the all-new 2012 6-Series Coupe, a new car which promises to set a new standard on the market. According to the manufacturer, the 2012 Bmw 6-Series Coupe will be available with two engines when it will hit the market: a 4.4-liter V8 (650i Coupe) and a six-in-line (640i Coupe), both mated to the eight-speed Sports automatic gearbox. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine will be capable to deliver 300 kW/407 hp and an impressive 600 Nm of torque, enough to push the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds and to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Bmw also says that the 650i Coupe will deliver a fuel consumption of 10.4 litres/100 kilometres (27.2 mpg imp). The 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line petrol engine also comes with twinpower turbo technology and delivers 235 kW/320 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

With these numbers the 640i Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h or 155 mph. More engine will be available later this year, including a diesel engine. Furthermore, the 2012 Bmw 6-Series Coupe is the first car in its segment to offer Electric Power Steering and optional Integral Active Steering; Drive Dynamic Control fitted as standard, and Dynamic Damper Control and Adaptive Drive optional.

Moreover, Bmw says that the new 6-Series Coupe is the first car in the segment to offer with Adaptive LED Headlights for low and high beam, including cornering function, foglamps and rear lights also with LED technology. Some other systems available as standard is the BMW iDrive control system with freestanding Control Display. Some of the ConnectedDrive features include the latest-generation BMW Head-Up Display (with high-definition, full-colour-spectrum graphics), rear-view camera, Surround View, Speed Limit Info, BMW Night Vision and Parking Assistant. Inside, we find comfort and sports seats, active seats, seat ventilation, Exclusive Nappa leather, ceramic applications, and a newly developed and model-specific Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System.
