Among the vehicles that Chevrolet will debut in Europe at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show is the new four-door Aveo Sedan. The 2012 Sonic, the car’s US version, had its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January. Chevrolet tuned the Aveo’s chassis so that European buyers will get improved handling, a characteristic that originates from the car’s tight body frame integral (BFI) structure. The car will get the following standard equipment: McPherson strut front suspension, Electronic power steering (EPS), electronic stability control (ESC) and ABS brakes.
The European engine range will have four cylinder petrol and diesel units that feature variable valve timing, double continuous variable cam phasing and common rail fuel injection for the diesels.
There are three petrol engine options: a 1.2-liter that develops either 70 or 86 hp, a 1.4-liter with 100 hp, and a 1.6-liter with 115 hp.
For the first time, the Aveo Sedan will be available with two versions of a 1.3-liter diesel engine (75 hp and at 95 hp) featuring Start/Stop technology.
