2012 Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon to debut at the Geneva Motor Show

2012 Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon
Chevrolet's all-new variant of the very popular Cruze will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The automaker has expanded the volume of the vehicle to nearly 1,500 liters of load space with the recent body style of its most renowned model, which matches the hatchback and saloon variants. When combined, these have reached total sales worldwide of more than one million units since the saloon version was launched in 2009. Chevrolet Europe President and Managing Director Susan Docherty commented that the Cruze Station Wagon caters to "an important market segment." He further stated that the model marks all the boxes for European drivers when it comes to dynamic driving, distinctive design, economy and space.
The Cruze Station Wagon has substantial storage space and a selection of efficient and powerful engines such as a new 130bhp 1.7-liter VCDi diesel engine. The start-stop technology is offered as standard for this model. The vehicle also boasts of CO2 emissions of 119g/km. The Station Wagon is 4,678mm in length, slightly longer than the saloon (4,597 mm) and hatchback (4,510 mm) models. The load space ranges from 500 liters up to the window line at the back to almost 1,500 liters up to the roof top with the back seats folded down.
The vehicle is immediately identifiable as a new version of the bestselling Chevrolet Cruze, which is the double winner of the world Touring Car Championship. The exterior has a tapering single arch roofline. Roof rails are also available as standard, offering convenience while keeping a sporty and poised appeal. A variety of interior and exterior styling modifications are being launched in 2012 for all Cruze models. These include the modified head-lamp interiors and fog lamps, a remodeled front fascia, new wheel styles on the exterior and refinements to the center console. A wide selection of seat finishes is also available for the interior.
