Chrysler unveiled today the all-new 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T, its latest addition set to make its official debut on April 20 at the 2011 New York International Auto Show. As expected, the 2012 Avenger R/T is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, delivering 283 hp, mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle. According to the manufacturer, the car has an EPA fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city and 29 mpg highway.
Moreover, the car also comes with unique exterior design elements such as unique body-color grille with the Dodge badge, menacing black headlamp background, the “war paint” R/T decal on the front quarter panel as well as 18-inch painted aluminum wheels. The suspension of the 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T comes with a tuned suspension as the engineers increased roll stiffness by 18 percent, and spring rates by 17 percent in the front and more than 12 percent in the rear.
Inside, the sporty theme is continued with distinctive Aunde fabric with Z stripe fabric inserts, red stitching and aggressive leather-trimmed bolsters. The front seats are heated and feature “R/T” graphic stitched in red on the front headrests. The same “R/T” graphic can be found on the tachometer. Regarding the sound system, Chrysler mounted a Boston Acoustic sound system mated to the standard 276-watt touchscreen entertainment center with a 30-gigabyte hard drive.
