Chrysler is set to serve up its two-door Fiat 500c convertible, which was launched at the New York motor show today, just in time for the warm weather. In fact, the 500c cabriolet, powered by a 1.4-liter, 101-hp engine, has been filtering into dealerships slowly in just over a few weeks. This vehicle comes in two trim levels: Lounge and Pop. The Pop version has a five-speed manual transmission as standard, in addition to the power-cloth top and all-season tires.
This version also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a chrome exhaust tip, and power-heated mirrors. On the other hand, the Lounge version boasts of a six-speed automatic transmission, which includes a sport mode. This vehicle also comes with premium features on top of those available in the Pop, such as fog lights, front-fascia and rear-fascia chrome accents as well as chrome mirror caps. The convertible also boasts of Sirius satellite radio, a six-speaker Bose sound system complete with subwoofer, premium cloth seats, automatic climate control, as well as security alarm.
The 500c, which seats four, is based on the Italian styling and functionality of the hatchback model. In addition, the power-operated cloth top on the modern 500c was inspired on the popular canvas roof of the original 1957 Nuova Cinquecento. It can be drawn back to the rear spoiler at speeds of up to 60 mph. Customers have a selection of 14 colors for the exterior and three colors for the soft top. They will also have choices of a dozen seat colors and material combinations. The vehicle’s interior is available in ivory or black. The vehicle also features a longer windshield that wraps up and over the header support. The convertible will be available this spring.
