2012 Geneva Motor Show: Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon makes its debut

2012 Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon

The major attraction at Chevrolet's stand at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show is the Cruze Station Wagon, which makes its global debut and has been added to the hatchback and notchback versions of this car. So far this year, Chevrolet has been busy with preparing for one world premiere, two debuts in Europe, the launch of an all-new and exciting infotainment system as well as to set a record global sales mark. Making their European debut are two youth concept cars – the Code 130R and Tru 140S. The automaker is also showing off the ChevroletMyLink, which is its newest infotainment offering.

The Cruze station wagon is ideal for families and people who prefer a compact car that has a bigger carrying space to match an active lifestyle. As of summer 2012, five powertrains will be offered for the entire Cruze range. These are the current 1.6L and 1.8L gasoline engines, a new 1.4L turbo gasoline engine, a new 1.7L diesel and an improved 2.0L diesel engine.

These modifications make the vehicle become Euro 5-compliant. Chevrolet is presenting several design revisions for the 2012 Cruze models. These include those done on the front fascia, modified head-lamp interiors and fog lamps, and new wheel styles. The center console got several refinements. It also offers a greater choice of seat finishes. The new equipment and features on the Cruze include keyless entry and start, rear view camera, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system (see below) and start-stop functionality depending on trim and engine choice.
