2012 Honda CR-V

There are many rumors saying that Honda will reveal an updated CR-V in 2010. In the same time, a Japanese magazine is to reveal a documented report, along with a sketch, according to which Honda is preparing a new CR-V for 2012 and will have its first show off no sooner than October 2011, during the Tokyo Motor Show. According to the report, by the end of 2009, the company will already have exterior design finalized and it seems that the car will be based on the current version's platform with very little increases in length, width and height.

For the first updated 2012 CR-V, the report claims that, in terms of powertrain, it will feature the engine range present also on today's model: two 4-cylinder gasoline units of 2.0L and 2.4L and a 2.2L turbo diesel available now on the European market.

It is said that the future version will not include a V6 option to this range but it will receive an advanced engine of which we have no details yet. For now we can just give some credit to this speculated report, but only the two years to come will show us if all this information is for real.[via tov]
