After few sets of leaked photos it is finally here: this is the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS, the second generation of the popular car which promises to combine the elegance and expressiveness of a coupe with the comfort and functionality of a sedan. As expected, the new CLS will make its debut in October, at the Paris Motor Show (October 2 ‚ 17, 2010), and will arrive in the United States in mid-2011. As you can see from the photos, the proportions of the car remain the same, but the design is completely new, showing the brand new front grille of the German manufacturer introduced last year, by the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and dominated by the large central star.
Furthermore, the car brings a premiere for Mercedes-Benz: the LED headlamps. According to the manufacturer, a total of 71 LED's provide an unmistakable appearance. Inside, the 2012 CLS offers a timeless design, combining the discreet elegance with the innovative details and handcrafted perfection.
Also, the new car brings five interior colors, five trim designs and three qualities of leather. Other highlights include matt galvanised air vents, for example, which form the ideal framework for a high-gloss-trimmed analogue clock. The particularly fine, 1.6 millimetre thick semi-aniline PASSION leather which is used meets the highest standards in terms of both look and feel. Customers can choose between three types of wood: high-gloss brown burr walnut, high-gloss black ash and satin-finish light-brown poplar
