2012 MV Agusta Brutale 675 makes its debut

Italian motorcycle fans are ecstatic to get more details about the MV Agusta Brutale 675 shortly after the company showed off its 2012 MV Agusta F3 675. The Brutale 675 is a three-cylinder 675cc naked bike that’s basically an F3 supersport that doesn’t have its fairings. It has a peak power figure of 113hp at 12,000 rpm and 52 lbs•ft of peak torque at 10,600 rpm. It weighs 163kg dry (359 lbs) and similar to its fully-faired counterpart, it is expected to be peaky but potent. The MV Agusta Brutale 675 is equipped with the same MVICS electronics package that that was introduced on MV Agusta F3 675.
It follows the trend in the new decade of considering electronics as the new horsepower. It becomes even more attractive with its price tag of €8,990, making it the least expensive MV Agusta offered in the market. There’s no guarantee though the cheap price of the MV Agusta F3 will make it a top-seller. The MV Agusta Brutale 675 is a potent package, which includes traction control, rider-selectable engine maps, and a ride-by-wire throttle. It is uncertain whether the MV Agusta F3′s optional wheelie control, launch control, and electronic quick-shifter will also function on the naked bike.
The Brutale 675 offers fully-adjustable Marzoochi forks, Brembo “gold” monoblock calipers, and a Nissin radial master cylinder. With these features, it will be a formidable rival for the Triumph Street Triple. Just like other naked versions of sport bikes, it has been detuned. However, the Brutale 675 has kept the same overly over-square 79mm bore and 45.9mm stroke as the F3 675. The street naked is expected to have a reduced horsepower due to its smaller 47mm throttle bodies and associated de-tuned engine maps. The other drawbacks of this model include the rear shock, which seems to have just an adjustable pre-load setting, and fixed damping.
