General Motors revealed the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala at the 2012 New York Auto Show and we have to admit that the car looks really impressive. Showing a new exterior design, the 2014 Impala represents the next evolution of Chevrolet’s design philosophy. The first look at the 2014 Impala reveals new, low-profile projector-beam headlamps (or HID headlamps and LED daytime running lamps on LTZ), a new front grille and a completely new front bumper. The rear end of the car looks also pretty good, showing new taillamps, while the design is successfully completed by the range of 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheels. The interior was built with greater attention to detail and upscale features.

The new instrument panel integrates an instrument cluster with a standard 4.2-inch color display with reconfigurable features for the driver information center. Moreover, Chevrolet offers the eight-inch touch screen display with available Chevrolet MyLink, which includes Bluetooth audio streaming and available navigation among many other features. The 2014 Impala will be offered with a choice of three engines: the 2.4-liter Ecotec engine which works with the eAssist system in order to provide electrical assist in certain conditions to help save fuel, delivering 182 hp and 172 lb.-ft. of torque (233 Nm), which is expected to achieve 35 mph on the highway; the 2.5-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine delivering 195 hp and 187 lb.-ft. of torque (253 Nm); the 3.6-liter V6 engine delivering 303 hp and 264 lb.-ft. of torque (358 Nm).

All of these engines will be mated as standard to a six-speed automatic transmission. In terms of safety, the 2014 Impala will offer full-speed-range adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert. The 2014 Impala will be offered in LS, LT and LTZ models, with assembly at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck, Mich., and Oshawa, Ontario facilities. Pricing will be announced later.
