The GT-R Blog, which offers the latest news about the 2012 Nissan GT-R, indicated that the price of the new Spec M -- the "gentleman's GT-R" – is about $177,000, or 15,000,300 yen. This means that the luxurious, highly-customizable (in terms of available colors and options) R35 is slotted below the top performance Spec V (15,750,000 yen/$186,115) and the FIA- and Super Taikyu-homologated S-Tec GT-R racecar (23,000,000 yen/$271,787). It has yet to be confirmed if the special edition will be offered in the US but don’t wait to find out since only 30 units of the model will be made. Sales will begin this December in Japan.
Positioned below the Spec M, which will have a combination of Spec V and Premium components, are the exclusive track-only Club Track edition (10,479,000 yen/$123,828), Premium (9,450,000 yen/$111,669), Black (9,303,000 yen/$109,932), and Pure (8,694,000 yen/$102,735). It was previously reported that each Spec M will have a hand-built interior that features large amounts of Alcantara, premium leather, and carbon fiber. The Blog also revealed that Nissan is slated to announce the Spec-M on October 18 and will introduce it on November 17 at its global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. Instead of having the current designation of CBA-R35, all of the 2012 GT-Rs (model year 2011 in Japan) will have DBA-R35. Sources divulged that the Spec M will have Opal White as its base paintjob, with each color sprayed on in three coats. These color options are expected to have a higher grade than the Spec V's. The US market 2011 Premium trim is offered in five exterior colors with a choice between two died leathers. [via GT-R Blog]
