2012 Range Rover Sport

Land Rover has revealed several improvements for the 2011 Range Rover Sport such as changes to the output of its engine range to its emissions levels. However, the most significant change for the 2012 model is the use of an 8-speed automatic gearbox that was developed by ZF. This is coupled to an enhanced version of the 3.0-liter SDV6 diesel engine that was given a 10hp extra boost to deliver a total of 256hp.

The diesel Sport will offer a more powerful performance but will have less CO2 emissions, from 243g/km to 230g/km while its combined fuel economy has been improved from 30.7mpg to 32.1mpg UK. The Range Rover Sport SDV6 could accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph (98 km/h) in 8.5 seconds and could go on to reach a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h). For 2012, the range-topping 5.0-liter supercharged V8 gasoline engine is unchanged, with an output of 510hp and an acceleration time of 5.9 seconds to get from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h).

Modifications to the 2012 Range Rover Sport include a broader range of exterior colors and interior trim. Across the range, a new powered, restyled tailgate has been fitted. The lift height is controlled by the button on the fascia or the key fob. It can be set by holding the tailgate at the preferred height and pressing the tailgate button for 10 seconds. In addition, the Supercharged version of the Sport is fitted with a new 20" alloy wheel and is finished in Sparkle Silver with high-gloss lacquer.
