At this year’s São Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil, Volkswagen unveiled the new Taigun Concept, a new compact SUV. Resembling the the very contemporary New Small Family by Volkswagen, the new Taigun is 3,859 mm long, 1,728 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall. Moreover, between the front and rear bumpers, the vehicle sports a wheelbase of 2,470 mm, which is large in relation to its exterior length. Under the hood, we find a three-cylinder 1.0-liter TSI engine delivering 81 kW / 110 PS and 175 Nm pf torque at a low 1,500/min. With a total weight of just 985 kg, the new Taigun is able t accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 186 km/h or 115 mph. Nevertheless, the vehicle has a fuel consumption of just four and one-half litres of fuel per 100 km. In terms of design, the new Taigun carries the same design line seen on the latest Volkswagen vehicles and we can say that it’s front end is inspired by the bigger Cross Coupe Concept. Painted in Seaside Blue, the Taigun features flared wings, rugged side trim panels as well as practical roof rails with integrated LED spotlights. The exterior design is completed by the 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/50 R17 tyres Inside, the Taigun features many storage surfaces and exceptionally good space conditions that generate very positive spacious feeling. Furthermore, we see a clean design that it is seen at the current Volkswagen models.
