After the 2012 Toyota Land Cruiser V8 was seen at the Brussels motor show, it will be launched in the UK on March 1. Known to be the ultimate Land Cruiser, the model features advanced technologies for off-road driving and comes with a series of luxury features. The single version has a price tag of £62,285 on the road. The Land Cruiser V8 gets a fresh design at the front, as well as new designs for its bumper, grille and fog lights as well as new headlamp units that consist of high-intensity discharge units and LED daytime running lights.
The UK model has new black roof rails, side moldings with chrome details and a set of new-design 20-inch alloy wheels. Its rear light units were redesigned and its LED turn indicators were integrated into the door mirrors. UK consumers have eight exterior colors to choose from, including a couple of new ones: Pearl White and Pure White. The major interior revisions include new, air conditioned/heated front seats, heated steering wheel, a central cool box, and improvements to the quality and look of the trims and finishes.
The most significant of the equipment changes are the use of a comprehensive lineup of handling and driver-assistance systems that make the full spectrum of off-road driving scenarios easier and safer to negotiate. Land Cruiser V8 still has its 4.5-litre V8 turbodiesel engine and six-speed automatic transmission but it has been subjected to adjustments to get exhaust emissions in line with Euro 5 standards. These include the addition of diesel particulate filter (DPF) and new fuel injectors in the common rail system. Its maximum power is 268bhp (200kW) at 3,600rpm, and maximum torque of 650Nm is delivered between 1,600 and 2,800rpm.
