2013 Audi A4 Facelift introduced at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show

Audi has presented the facelifted A4 that will arrive at European showrooms in January. The U.S. market won’t have to wait long as the restyled A4 will be offered there in June or July as a 2013 model. The European A4 will be available as the sedan, wagon, Allroad quattro and top-performance S4 versions. Audi claims that the S4 can accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph in five seconds.

It also said that it has a limited top speed of 155 mph and that it has a 29.4 mpg fuel-economy rating on the European test. The reworked A4 is up against the new versions of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3-Series.

What the new A4 has been given are some styling revisions, its engines for Europe have also been modified and interior quality is improved. The new A4 model will be available with a two engines: a 2.0 liter TFSI engine with 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque (A4 and Allroad) and 3.0 liter TFSI engine with 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque (S4)The changes to the exterior include a new front styling with headlamps that have more curves. It also comes with reworked LED running lamps that appear as a continuous band.

The hood has more styling contours and it has also been given a new six-corner single-frame grille that has a gray paint on four-cylinder versions and black on six-cylinder models. In addition, it comes with a restyled bumper that has trapezoid-shaped fog lamps. From the rear, we see new taillamps with revised LED graphics identical to those of the headlamps. It gets a new rear bumper with a more emphasized valance panel with twin chrome tailpipes. The interior gets new steering-wheel designs, a dashboard and center-console trim of higher quality, a modified switchgear and changes to the optional MMI navigation-plus system.
