In downtown Munich, a bright red 4.0 litre V8 Continental GT coupe from Bentley Motors was seen suspended under a helicopter, which brought it to a specially-designed podium at the top of a high rise complex. Bentley did this to attract attention in order to celebrate this model’s arrival. It’s clearly a success as this new vehicle certainly got the attention of everyone at rush hour as it was brought to the stylish SkyLounge, which is positioned in a glazed bridge between two skyscrapers. Three hundred VIP guests were at this venue for the exclusive Bentley Continental V8 launch party. The organizer for this helicopter lift stunt is Klaus Becker, General Manager of Bentley Munich. He said that the company was inspired by Bentley’s iconic ‘Winged B’ emblem. The new Bentley V8 engine offers a maximum power of 500 bhp (507 PS / 373 Kw) at 6000 rev/min and an outstanding peak torque of 660 Nm (487 lb ft) which is offered throughout the rev range from 1700 to 5000 rev/min. It is mated to a new close-ratio 8-speed automatic transmission that results to a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds for the GT coupe (0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds) and a top speed of 188 mph (303 km/h).
