This April, production of the 2013 BMW X3 will begin. Customers in Europe could choose from three gasoline and three diesel variants. Meanwhile, one of the most significant changes in the U.S. market for the 2013 BMW X3 xDrive28i is the introduction of the 241-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which replaces the 240-hp naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline-6. This engine will still be partnered to an eight-speed automatic. The X3 xDrive35i, with its 300-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 will continue to be the most powerful version for the U.S. But in Europe, BMW still plans to offer a 181-hp X3 xDrive20i four-cylinder gasoline model with six-speed manual gearbox. Its diesel variants include the 181-hp X3 xDrive20d, the 255-hp X3 xDrive30d and the 308-hp X3 xDrive35d. [source: InsideLine]
