2013 Dacia Sandero

The Dacia Sandero will be launched in the UK this January. With a price tag of £5995, it’s easily the cheapest car currently available in the country. Set to rival the Ford Fiesta, the Sandero will be added to the Dacia lineup for the UK launch, joining the £8995 Duster SUV. The Sandero is priced low but it won’t hold back on technology or equipment. It is powered by an engine from the new Renault Clio range and will feature the newest 0.9-litre three-cylinder petrol. Meanwhile, the base £5995 Sandero Access model is offered just with a normally aspirated 74bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine. Inside its kit, we found black bumpers and 15-inch steel wheels. The Ambiance trim consists of upgrades that are worth an additional £800.

These upgrades include body-coloured bumpers, remote central locking, electric front windows and Bluetooth connectivity. The Ambiance trim is offered on the Clio 4's 89bhp 0.9-litre petrol engine (at £7595) and the newest 89bhp 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine (at £8595). The range-topping Laureate trim is priced £1100 higher than Ambiance and is available with all three engine options.

The extra kit features air-con, cruise control and front fog lights. Buyers can choose metallic paint for their Ambiance and Laureate models, an option that costs £475. Asking for 15-inch alloy wheels adds £425 to the total cost. For the Laureate models, customers can ask for rear parking sensors (at £175), sat-nav (at £175), leather seats (at £600) and a front centre armrest (at £90). When all options are ticked, a range-topping Sandero Laureate with a 1.5 dCi engine costs £11,630. On the other hand, an entry-level 69bhp 1.4 diesel Fiesta in Studio trim costs £11,795.
