GMC spokesman Joe LaMuraglia said that in early February, a new GMC Acadia will be displayed at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. There are few official details available. LaMuraglia would only say that it is “more than a new trim level." A couple of years ago at the Detroit Auto Show, GMC revealed a luxurious Denali trim of the Acadia.
There hasn’t been plenty of news about GMC lately. It didn’t even bring any model to the Detroit Auto Show. The existing Acadia version has been selling since late 2006.
It was one of the first of GM's large crossovers to be offered. It was followed by the Buick Enclave and the Chevrolet Traverse. The Acadia certainly was ripe for getting an update. In 2011, GMC was the fastest growing of GM. In fact, it has kept its crown as the No. 2-biggest brand in the U.S. after Chevrolet.
