2013 Lincoln MKS gets more power and additional standard equipment

After the 2013 Lincoln MKT it’s time to take a look also on the 2013 Lincoln MKS, an updated version of the well-known sedan which will offer increased power, improved fuel efficiency and additional standard equipment. The new 2013 Lincoln MKS will be available in three versions, a FWD powered by a 3.7-liter V6, an AWD version with the same version and another AWD model featuring a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. The 3.7-liter V6 engine delivers 300 hp and 275 lb.-ft. at 4,000 rpm. The MKS powered by this engine promises a fuel economy of 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway for the front-wheel drive model and 18/26 mpg with the all-wheel-drive model.
The twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 will deliver 355 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 350 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,500 to 5,250 rpm. Regarding the fuel economy, this model will achieve 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The engines will use two versions of the six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission, both with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters: the 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 uses the 6F-50 while the 3.5-liter EcoBoost uses the heavy-duty 6F-55. The new Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) is also present in the MKS as standard equipment, delivering an exciting driving experience for the driver that is comfortable, smooth and quiet.
The braking system was also improved, featuring larger brake components measuring 13.86 inches (352 mm) on the front, more than an inch larger than in the 2012 model. Regarding the design, the exterior was updated and features new grille, hood, front fenders, HID headlamps, front fascia, 19- and 20-inch aluminum wheels, decklid, rear fascia, LED tail lamps and exhaust tips. The interior also features an instrument panel, MyLincoln Touch and rich new color schemes complementing new premium materials and genuine stitching. The entry-level 2013 Lincoln MKS will be priced from $43,685, including $875 destination.
