2013 Mercedes-Benz E400 Hybrid priced at $55,800

Mercedes-Benz welcomes an E400 Hybrid model into the E-Class family for the 2013 model year. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 302-hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an electric motor with 27-hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. The EPA figures haven’t been released yet but Mercedes-Benz is already claiming that its E400 Hybrid returns 27-mpg. According to early estimates, the E400 Hybrid has a fuel economy rating of 24-mpg city, 32-mpg highway. It was earlier this year that the E400 Hybrid made its debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. However, the luxury automaker said that it has a starting price of $55,800, (which excludes a destination fee of $905). Furthermore, the 2013 model year E-Class also offers an E350 Bluetec model, priced at $52,200, which excludes a destination fee. The E350 Bluetec is powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6, which produces 210-hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The official EPA figures for this model haven’t been released yet but the 2012 model year comes with 21-mpg city, 32-mpg highway, and 25-mpg combined. These figures will probably stay the same since the E-Class hasn’t been subjected to any major revisions between the model years.
