Nissan Altima Mars Journey

After the U.S.’s Curiosity was able to successfully land on Mars, Nissan wanted to take advantage of the hype and has released an infograph to indicate the price of driving to Mars. Nissan has started to use the 2013 Altima to achieve a best-in-class 38-mpg highway. Of course, no one can really drive 352 million miles (the distance to Mars) in this lifetime. Nissan said that the 2013 Altima is the best among other vehicles by a huge margin. Nissan said that it will cost $33,764,211 to drive to Mars, based on $3.645 per gallon. Even if 35-mpg to 38-mpg might not seem like a huge difference, take note that this is distributed over more than 352 million miles. The gap is emphasized by Nissan. For instance, the 2012 Toyota Camry, which delivers 35-mpg, would cost $36,658,286 to drive to Mars. Nissan also wants to emphasize Altima’s fuel efficiency and its NASA-inspired “zero-gravity” front seats.
