Shelby American has decided to update the GT350 for the 2013 model year by changing its style and giving it new colors. It’s still very exclusive and has a limited production run of only 350 units built. John Luft, president of Shelby American, said that the post-title Ford Mustang GT program, the Shelby GT350, is one of the most celebrated and legendary modern muscle cars in the world. He said that this year marks the third consecutive model year that they worked on the contemporary Shelby GT350, which they refined with options and equipment chosen by fans. The Shelby American team is retaining Carroll Shelby’s philosophy to continue to produce high performance cars and parts. The Shelby GT350 is offered either as a coupe or a convertible. It is priced at $26,995 for the naturally aspirated package.
Meanwhile, the supercharged post-title package will cost $33,995. The color choices for the GT350 model in the new year are wider, including all Ford standard colors on the 2013 Mustang: Grabber Blue, Candy Red Tint Coat Metallic, ‘Gotta Have It’ Green, Sterling Gray Metallic, ‘Deep Impact’ Blue Metallic, Ingot Silver Metallic, Race Red, Performance White, and Performance Black. Furthermore, consumers could get stripes applied in either Satin Black or Gloss White, a first for Shelby since 1970. Those who want their vehicles to be finished in Azure Blue Metallic on Performance White or Ingot Silver Metallic will get contrasting Satin Black or Bright Silver Metallic wheels.
It comes with Recaro seats while the rear valence was revised for the 2013 model. Consumer could also opt for a glass roof, one-piece driveshaft, more powerful brakes, improvements to the interior, some cooling enhancements, and a color-coordinated billet aluminum engine cap set. Since this is a post-title package, a base Ford Mustang GT has to be bought first. The naturally aspirated package delivers 430-hp (at 450-hp with the cold air package) while the Ford Racing supercharged offers 525-hp. Meanwhile, the range-topping GT350 package produces 624-hp.
