The pricing information for the 2013 Subaru WRX and WRX STI Special Editions has been unveiled. Subaru of America, Inc. said that the Subaru WRX Special Edition Sedan costs MSRP of $28,795, which is $500 higher than the WRX Premium. It was also divulged that the Subaru WRX STI Special Edition Sedan has an MSRP of $34,795, which is $500 higher than the WRX STI. An “Orange and Black” custom paint scheme is used on the Special Edition WRX and WRX STI models. It features a Tangerine Orange Pearl paint off-set as well as jet black custom wheels, black front fender badging and exterior mirrors. Furthermore, the Special Editions cars will get black exterior graphics. The Special Edition lineup is limited to only 200 WRX sedans and 100 WRX STI sedans.
To achieve a true custom look, the WRX Special Edition comes with dark interior trim from the WRX STI, which includes a black headliner. The stitching used on the seats, doors and shift boot is orange to go with the color of the Special Edition’s interior. It also comes with custom orange trimmed floor mats. Front fog lamps are featured on the two vehicles. The Special Editions will start selling in the spring of 2013, making an already powerful range of AWD sports cars even more impressive.
The WRX and WRX STI models use Subaru BOXER engines, generating 265hp and 305hp respectively. The 2013 WRX Special Edition delivers 244 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. This is the output that runs through the standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The 2013 WRX STI Special Edition offers an experience that’s rally-inspired due to its 305hp turbocharged BOXER engine, six-speed manual transmission and exclusive Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) version of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. In addition, the WRX STI is equipped with Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) and a Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system, which features a track performance-optimized mode.
