2012 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe

Chevrolet has started working on the 6th Gen Chevy Camaro, sources told GMInsideNews. It’s best to wait for official confirmation but we can’t help but be excited about reports that the next-gen Chevy Camaro will be offered with the Gen V 6.2-liter V8 and that it’s expected to enter production in 2016. It’s speculated this engine is the direct-injection version of the Chevy Small block that could displace fewer than 6.0-liters and is expected to make its debut in the C7 Corvette.

The other Corvette features that may be used here are the 7-speed manual and the dual-clutch automatic. Despite the Camaro’s poor visibility and unremarkable looks, it is selling very well.

It is why it’s surprising that Chevrolet will back off of that momentum. What many enthusiasts want for the next-gen Camaro is for it to offer improvements in visibility, a reduced weight, more mature looks, and an engine that seems to be intended for a sports car. [source: GMInsideNews]
