Abarth 695 Competizione takes the Fiat 500 to another level

Abarth unveiled the 695 Competizione at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Fiat 500-based Competizione is ready to be raced on the track as it has a roll cage and its output goes higher than 180hp. Abarth had removed the rear seat on the 500 and instead, it installed the rear bracing for a roll bar. Abarth asserts that the 695 Competizione is a street-legal race car but while this is doubtful, it’s awesome to see the Fiat model get an interior that’s inspired by racing as well as receive a boost in performance. Abarth said that the 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder in the 695 Competizione delivers more than 180-hp.
It has also been equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. There are two modes available. The first is an automatic Street while the other one is a full manual Track. Instead of a stock exhaust, the 695 Competizione gets the Record Monza, two-mode system that opens up past 3000-rpm. Driving from zero to 62 mph is achieved in less than seven seconds and the top speed reached is 140mph. The suspension has modified and now comes with a set of Koni shocks.
In addition, braking performance is improved with Brembo four-piston calipers. The lone difference seen from the outside on the 695 Competizione features is its 17-inch wheels from the Tributo Ferrari and the Grigio Competizione Opaco livery. Inside, we see that the racing seats at the front are reupholstered in leather and Alcantara. Meanwhile, its instrument cluster was specially built by Jaeger. The featured accessories include a carbon-fiber dash panel and aluminum pedals that have Abarth’s scorpion logo.
