Many of you folks were surprised by the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept unveiled last week at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, but we have a surprise for you! What you didn’t know until today is that Alfa Romeo will also bring the 4C Spider Concept in September, at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show! That’s right, the Italian manufacturer wants to receive some feedback regarding a possible open-top version of the car and the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show will be the perfect place to do it.
The new Alfa Romeo 4C is set to become firm’s halo car and will enter production in 2012. In the concept form, the 4C has a length of almost 4 metres and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres. Powered by a 4-cylinder 1750 Turbo Petrol engine delivering over 200 hp and mated to the new automatic "Alfa TCT" twin dry clutch transmission, the car promises to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than five seconds and will have a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h or 155 mph. Regarding the design, the car is inspired by the limited edition 8C Competizione but also by the iconic Alfa 33 Stradale from 1967.
