Having received a great welcome for its MiTo, Alfa Romeo is following this up with an introduction of a whole range of sports versions. As the production version of the 240hp MiTo GTA which showed at the Geneva Motor Show as a near-production concept is about to arrive, the carmaker is already in the process of preparing another sports version that will bridge the gap between the 155hp 1.4 TB model and the top of the line GTA.
According to AutoWeek, the MiTo Veloce will be introduced to the world in the largest motor show in Holland, the AutoRAI 2009 which will be hosted in the Amsterdam Exhibition Center beginning April 1 and ending on April 11. There are reports saying that the MiTo Veloce will be equipped with a revised version of the regular car's 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder powerplant exhibiting the same uprates as the 1.4-liter turbo engine of Fiat Grande Punto Abarth Esseesse which yields 180hp . The Veloce will also come equipped with an uprated suspension and larger brakes together with bigger alloy rims and a more aggressive bodykit styling.
