Alice Cooper’s 1961 Chevrolet Corvette to be auctioned at Melbourne

At the Melbourne Winter Auction on May 31, Shannons will sell an iconic 1961 Corvette that for several years had been driven around by American rock music legend Alice Cooper. Collectors will love the fact that the interior of this roadster (with white with classic red themes) comes with three “Fenders” — the two on the car and a matching pearl white Fender Squier guitar signed by Cooper. Initially, the Corvette was advertised on the Internet but it had later been withdrawn from sale.
A muscle car fan from Melbourne followed up on its disappearance from the list. He talked to Alice Cooper (real name Vincent Damon Furnier) at his home in Arizona and talked him into agreeing to include the signed Fender guitar that had been part of the original Internet sale offer.
Cooper owned the Corvette for about six years before he decided to sell it. The Corvette remains to be equipped with the original 283-Cid V8 and Powerglide transmission
