There were reports that came out last year saying that Ken Anderson, a famous American engineer who has worked with high profile F1 assignments, was discussing with Honda about creating an US-based F1 team. However, with the announcement of Honda in the latter part of 2008 of its intention to pull out of all the sport, conjecture concerning Anderson's future intentions burst anew.
The latest reports say that the F1 team is hidden in the US and is scheduled to premiere in the latter part of February. The main personnel of this team will be Anderson and Peter Windsor, an F1 enthusiast and TV host. Anderson has worked with Indycar and NASCAR and lately was connected with Ligier, and Windsor has worked for Williams and Ferrari and is a well-known writer and TV expert. The new American team will be called 'USF1' according to Motorsport-Total, a German publication. The team could be ready for the Grand Prix by 2010. They will make their home in Charlotte, NC and their tag line will be 'Made in America.'
