AMG planning a high-performance small car

According to the latest reports, it appears that the official Mercedes-Benz tuner, AMG, is considering creating a high-performance small car off the forthcoming MFA platform.
The new MFA platform will be used by the upcoming A-Class and B-Class, but also by three new small Mercedes-Benz models by 2012 but there is a small problem: the new models from the German manufacturer will be front-wheel drive but AMG boss says a front-drive performance car is incompatible with the performance company's core values. But, looking at the MFA platform, the same Volker Mornhinweg said that AMG can engineer a rear-drive version. "We have the capability to do it," he says. A decision regarding this project will be taken later this month!
