DMC Gigante is a heavily tuned Bentley Bentayga with 700 hp and 1,055 Nm

Sometimes, being on top isn’t enough, especially for this Bentley Bentayga, which has been thoroughly tinkered by German tuning firm DMC. In terms of the fusion of power and luxury in the SUV world, the highly premium Bentley Bentayga could be considered as the authority.

Aside from its luxurious and technology laden bespoke interior and its hegemonic exterior, the Bentley Bentayga deserves to be called the most powerful SUV thanks to its potent core -- a monstrous 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine.

This W12 engine can deliver up to 600 hp (447 kW) of output and up to 663 lb.-ft. of peak torque, allowing the Bentayga to sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds and eventually reach a top speed of 187 mph (300 km/h). Massive, isn’t it? For DMC, however, it wasn’t enough. That is why this German tuner decided to place its stakes higher and create what it dubbed as the DMC Bentley Bentayga "Gigante."

As the DMC moniker infers, this tuned Gigante is a giant compared to the already powerful Bentley Bentayga. DMC was thorough in making sure the stock 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine is tuned to deliver more output and torque.

By employing performance-related tweaks like a smart engine management system and a new high-performance exhaust system, DMC was able to significantly hike the power levels of this 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine to 700 hp (521 kW) of max output and 778 lb.-ft. (1,055 Nm) of peak torque. Moreover, top speed has also been raised from 187 mph (300 km/h) to 193 mph (310 km/h).

Of course, the upgrades implemented weren’t limited to the power levels – although such immense modifications should be really noted and emphasized. Exterior and interior modifications especially for a bespoke luxury SUV like the Bentley Bentayga are not rare. However, a power upgrade on this level is worthy of note. As for the DMC Gigante, its overwhelming power is matched by its modified exterior.

On the front end, the DMC Gigante features a new carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber side skirts, and a carbon fiber trim on the rear. It rides on a new set of massive forged aluminum wheels available in sizes 22 inches, 23 inches and 24 inches. These carbon fiber component should make the Gigante lighter than a typical Bentayga.

Meanwhile, the interior of this DMC-tuned Bentley Bentayga Gigante comes with hand-stitched floor mats as well as a customized carbon fiber steering wheel with Italian leather accents. If these aren’t enough, DMC is willing to employ this treat to the whole interior at an extra charge. Of course, the Bentayga already offers an opulent interior that is fit for royalty (note: Queen Elizabeth II owns a plush Bentayga as one of her royal rides). It is laden with an array of entertainment and comfort systems like backseat screens and Wi-Fi (entertainment) as well as heating, cooling and massage functions on the seats (comfort).

Confirmed: Bentley will offer plugin hybrids for every model

Bentley once again confirmed its plans to push PHEV into their future lineups. As a matter of fact, the Bentayga SUV will be the first to have the plugin hybrid technology, which will also be using a V6 engine. Next on the line would be none other than the new generation Bentley Continental GT. And there’s more to come.

During a recent press interview with Automotive News, Wolfgang Duerheimer reiterated the fact that plugin hybrids no longer serve as “temporary bridge technology”. Instead, it now offers the best features of both cars with internal combustion engine as well as those of electric powered vehicles.

The CEO also considers the fact that the upcoming plugin variants would be their answer to the consumers who want to use their cars to go to places where gasoline and diesel engines would no longer be allowed.

At least in the near future. All the same, he believes that hybrids are also great for long distance traveling which is quite difficult to achieve with your conventional electric vehicle. At any rate, he also added how the combustion engine would do better especially for a vehicle to cover long trips or to make it from one place to another just like in the US.

Overall, it looks like we’ll be seeing more Bentleys with plugin technology real soon. Aside from the SUV and the GT, we also heard that Bentley would be making a plugin hybrid variant for the Mulsanne. In short, all Bentley models.

Speaking of hybrids, it seems like some of these luxury brands have been following each other’s footsteps. Aside from Bentley, other luxury automakers Audi, Lamborghini and Ferrari have set up their plans to go full hybrid in the next few years. There is Audi’s Q8 e-tron concept as well as Lamborghini’s SUV, the Urus, which is also a hybrid. And as for Ferrari, the company is already planning to sell as many as 10,000 full hybrid units by 2019.

Going back to Bentley, there are no details yet regarding the exact date of the launch but the Bentayga hybrid will probably come out in 2018. What’s more interesting is that the upcoming hybrid Continental GT would be using a V6 with ICE that could perform the same power output of a V8 model.

In connection to this, a test mule was reportedly seen recently and it could be the new Continental GT PHEV. If that’s the case, we guess we don’t have to wait for so long until Bentley announces its official launch date.

2017 Bentley Continental Supersports is fastest four-seater ever built

British carmaker Bentley wasn’t joking when it said it would introduce the “most extreme Bentley ever.” Here it is, the new 2017 Bentley Continental Supersports. Aside from being Bentley’s most extreme model in terms of acceleration and speed, the new Bentley Continental Supersports is now the world’s fastest four-seat model.

The introduction of the new Continental Supersports shows that Bentley has yet to be done with the current generation of the Continental GT.

As we expected, “the most extreme Bentley ever” ultimately points to the Continental Supersports’ awesome performance on the road that could even dominate other four-seaters in terms of speed and acceleration.

Thus, with Continental Supersports, Bentley is ending the current generation of the Continental GT with a very loud bang. By the way, the Continental Supersports also has its two-seat Convertible version.

Watch out for unveiling of ‘Most Extreme Bentley Ever’ on January 6

Bentley will be launching the next generation of its Continental GT coupe sometime late this year. This has got us very excited. After all, the current generation of the Continental GT has been in existence for nearly six years. It’s high time that Bentley introduces a new generation of its grand tourer.

But it seems Bentley isn’t done yet with the current generation of the Continental GT – the second one as it plans to unveil a new version that would render the previous Bentleys speechless. In fact, Bentley has released a short video clip that teases the newest – and probably the last – iteration of the second-gen Continental GT. This version has been dubbed by the British carmaker as the most “the most extreme Bentley ever,” which could ultimately point to its performance on the road. All will be known when Bentley takes the wrap off this latest vehicle on January 6, 2017.

While the short video teaser didn’t say something about this Bentley being a Continental GT, the Continental GT is the only current model that allows the marque to push its performance limits further. We could speculate that the model shown on the teaser video is the Continental Supersports. The first generation of the Continental GT features a Supersports version. The Continental Supersports was the most powerful version of the first-gen Continental GT, with its 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbo engine providing 621 hp (630 PS or 463 kW) of max output at 6,00 rpm and 800 Nm (590 lb.-ft.) of torque available at 1,700 rpm.

Now, the second-gen Continental GT has yet to offer a Supersports version. Logically, the second-gen Supersport should be the most powerful Continental GT in the current generation. So far, the most extreme model of the Continental GT – and most powerful Bentley to date -- is the Continental GT Speed, which has a 6.0-liter W12 twin turbo powerplant that delivers up to 626 hp (635 PS or 467 kW) of output at 6,000 rpm and up to 820 Nm (605 lb.-ft.) of torque at 1,700 rpm.

Now, for the new Continental Supersports – assuming that the vehicle in the video teaser is really this model -- to become the most extreme Bentley, it needs to significantly beat the Continental GT Speed in terms of power. This means that the Continental Supersports should offer more than 626 hp of output and 820 Nm of torque. There have been speculations that the Continental Supersports would be offering power levels that exceed 700 hp of output and would be much lighter than the Continental GT Speed.

In terms of looks, the teaser video doesn’t offer much except for red calipers, large multi-spoke wheels, carbon fiber hood vents, stocky side skirts, carbon fiber fixed rear wing and tinted rear lights.

Having a blacked-out Bentley Mulsanne Speed is already menacing by itself but by naming it as the Bamford X, it became all the more imposing. This model was made by the brand’s very own bespoke department Mulliner, and was developed specifically for JCB heir and watch customizer George Bamford.

In terms of dimensions alone, the Bamford X is showing that it is not something you play around with. Overall length stands at 5,575 mm (219.5 in.) with total width of 1,926 mm (75.8 in.) and height at 1,521 mm (59.9 in.).

Looking at the exterior, the Bamford X follows a black-on-black theme, which is the signature of many of the Bamford Watch Department’s customized timepieces. For the bodywork, the brand made sure to give it that Beluga black finish. Much like the color scheme, this color is similar to what Bamford gets during the different processes like Graphite Particle Coating and Military Grade Titanium Coating.

While all of the trims offered for the exterior usually have a polished stainless steel finish, Bentley has revealed that this time it has undergone Physical Vapor Deposition to give it that shimmering known as Darkware. This treatment is not limited to the exterior as the brightwork seen in the interior is now in Darkware as well.

Under the hood, the Bamford X has the twin-turbo 6.75-liter V8 engine capable of output at 400 kW (537 hp) with peak torque coming in at 1,100 Nm (811 lb.-ft.). With this, the model has a maximum speed of 305 km/h (190 mph) and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in merely 4.9 seconds.

Going back to the exterior, the body is placed on top of the distinct 21-inch wheels that have a black finish and that are based mainly on the Mulliner Driving Specification items. Rounding off the intimidating appearance of the Bamford X is the dark tint on the window.

Everything you can observe on the exterior can be seen inside as well like with the black trim and black upholstery. It is good to know that the brand made sure to give Mulliner the authority to use alcantara center panels for the seats of the Bamford model.

Another signature feature seen in the model can be seen on the storage compartment, stitching, and leather piping, all of which have a bright blue finish. The amount of personalization on the Bamford X is surprising for many as the only time the brand has allowed such a personal customization was with the British Royal Family.

After all of these, the carbon fiber one-off portable watch holder acts as the finishing touch. Commenting on this new model, George Bamford said this is how one should perform personalization.

The base model is named after the Mulsanne Corner of the famous Le Mans race. The Speed version was developed to offer customers a model that delivered not only better performance but one that also comes with additional premium features.

Known for its luxurious bespoke interiors, the Bentayga's $275,000 price tag seems to be worth every penny for some people. However, Bentley happens to have overlooked something very important while assembling the production model for its latest Bentayga SUV. As it turns out, the bolts on the posh vehicle’s seat mechanism and dashboard were not properly secured. (tsk, tsk)

We know for a fact that a loosely tightened screw could compromise the vehicle’s overall safety. Over time, the frequent vibrations could make it lose its alignment completely. This is not something you’d expect from an SUV that costs an arm and a leg. Among Bentley’s bespoke interior add-ons include a fishing set, a Breitling tourbillon clock and a Linley hamper set that you can stuff with an exclusive picnic menu from Gloucestershire England’s Daylesford organic farm.

Only this year, Bentley added a new engine range for its famous Bentayga model. The Bentayga diesel comes with 4.0 litre V8 turbo charged direct injection engine. It uses the same powerplant as that of Audi’s SQ7 SUV. Thus, allowing it to produce as much as 429 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Basically, the Bentayga diesel can go from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in less than 5 seconds, with top speed reaching 168 miles per hour.

Bentley apparently discovered some inaccuracy during a routine system test concerning its torque levels. It’s not because someone came forward or complained that the seats have not been mounted in place. The Bentayga SUV’s luxurious seats are equipped with massage, ventilating and heat functions. Obviously, the loosely mounted seats have no place here. No number of expensive features could compensate for the damage or injuries it could’ve brought to the owner should an accident occur. Good thing, the British car company had addressed the issue immediately.

Bentley earlier announced a safety recall on some of its Bentayga 2017 year models (those sold particularly in the US). The affected vehicles are those that were assembled around March 1, 2016 until September 30, 2016. Bentley. The NHTSA said that the company will notify the owners within this month. After which, the dealers will check the seats and instrument panel and do whatever is needed to be done without extra charge.

It is said that there are 378 Bentayga SUVs in the US right now. Out of all these, about 88 vehicles are possibly affected with loose screws. On the brighter side, at least Bentley owners don’t have to wait for some spare parts to arrive to solve the problem. Bentley technicians only need to get their wrenches ready, tighten up the bolts and the task is already complete.

When BMW revealed its X7 SUV, the goal was to make it a rival not only to the Range Rover but also to the GLS from Mercedes-Benz. The brand however appears to be taking it to the next level as a possible contender versus the Bentley Bentayga as BMW unveiled plans of coming out with a 4-seater version.

Given the change from a 7-seater to a 4-seater, this means that this new version will offer additional space for the two passengers sitting in the back. However, this is not the only change as some features of the exterior have been modified with the interior getting an upscale treatment.

BMW said though that even if the two versions of the X7 will be manufactured alongside the Rolls-Royce SUV, the former will be using a different platform altogether. Mainly the X7 will utilize the 7-Series as it will also be using the 6-cylinder engine or the 8-cylinder unit. It will be combined with an electric powertrain and maybe even a V12.

Reports are also coming out that BMW may add an M, or possible an M Performance, variant to the X7 in the hopes of going against the GLS 63 from Mercedes-AMZ. There are also rumors going around that the brand is working to develop a 5-seater version of the X7 though BMW has kept quiet about this.

The new X7 will be manufactured at the brand’s facility located in Spartanburg with expected release to the U.S. market by the early part of 2019. In an interview with AutoNews, executives at the brand said that the new BMW X7 will be priced just below $200,000 and is expected to comprise around1% of all sales related to the X7.

It was in March of this year when BMW first presented the plan of creating the X7, a three-row SUV. This was confirmed during the annual press conference by none other than Harald Kruger, BMW AG’s Chairman of the Board, who said that with the addition of the X7, the brand hoped that it would widen the appeal of the line-up. In addition, he added, BMW is also looking more into what other benefits are present in this particular segment.

While fans were teased by the fact that the model was hidden beneath covers, it was clear that in terms of size, the X7 would be larger compared to the X5. At that time, many also believed that it will come with a rear-wheel drive, the same platform found in the 6th generation of the brand’s celebrated 7-Series. The expectation however is the X7 will eventually succeed the 7-Series not only in terms of technology but in being the most luxurious model of the brand.

Many are now likely acquainted with the Linley hamper that can easily be slotted to the trunk of the Bentley Bentayga. As if to highlight a good use for this hamper, organic farm Daylesford created a picnic menu which, according to Bentley, highlights the fall produce that comes from Daylesford’s farm located in Gloucestershire, England.

The menu itself has a number of really delicious offerings that include a carved pumpkin that has been stuffed with green kale, crispy bacon, apples, and toasted seed, with honey mustard dressing added to it. Other offerings include the buckwheat tabbouleh; chocolate praline slices, and lemon and raspberry gateau; raspberry macaroons with buttercream filling; red kuri squash, chilli, and chickpea cakes; roasted squash and balsamic red onion tartlets; and wild mushroom, truffle, and gruyere arancini. Indeed, looking at all of these, delicious may not be enough of a word to describe it.

According to Chef Fuller, late autumn is always a good period for Daylesford as it becomes teemed with a number of produce. Since it is during this period that the weather starts to grow cold, Fuller revealed that they wanted to focus on the strong and earthy flavors of the farm’s many types of beetroot, squash, and pumpkin. Each of which has been grown during the summer months using rich organic soil. Through the use of careful slow cooking methods, he added, the subtle sweetness of these produce is brought out. Combined with game, wild mushrooms, or even grass pastured beef, the end result is an excellent way to celebrate the season.

The brand has not revealed how much the picnic actually costs. However for those who want it for their Bentaygas, they can inquire at the nearest Daylesford store, of which there are only 3 in the London area. Given that this is meant for a Bentayga, just expect it to be in the high range.

For those not familiar, the Linley hamper was the product of a collaboration between Mulliner and David Linley. The former being the accessories and in-house personalization division of the brand while the latter is the celebrated British designer and the Queen’s nephew no less.

The hamper is composed of three compartments, with each having been specifically designed in order to fit perfectly in the trunk of the Bentayga. One of the compartments is where one can likely see a Mulliner cashmere rug and is a good place to store dry goods. The second compartment is the one where the illuminated chiller is placed. Finally the third is where one can store crystal glass, silver cutlery, and even fine china tableware. Given all of these, it would not be a stretch to the imagination that this add-on is expensive. You would probably be not mistaken as it costs $27,500, more expensive than Volkswagen’s Golf GTI.

Admittedly this seems to be a rather costly add-on. Considering however that the Bentayga has a price tag of at least $230,000, an add-on at that price is probably next to nothing especially if one can afford a Bentayga. The reality though is that it is not even the most expensive option there is. That record in fact belongs to the Breitling tourbillon clock that can be mounted on the dashboard. The price? Almost the same as the Bentayga. If that is all too expensive and you still want to have an add-on, a good option is to have a bespoke fishing set in the trunk.

For many people, the word Bentley generally refers to luxury, beauty, and refinement. A good example of this is the 2017 Bentayga which was first revealed back in 2015. While undoubtedly the most expensive SUV on the market, it also boasts of being the fastest with electronically limited speed at 187 mph.

However for Germany-based Mansory, this was clearly not enough as the celebrated tuning company has taken a shot at the 2017 Bentayga and has come out with a version that does away with the English country feel and instead brings with it a look that’s much sportier and far more exciting.

It was back in May of this year when Mansory first offered a glimpse of how they would approach the 2017 Bentayga. Then they showed a grille and hood made of carbon fiber and fitted with the 23-inch multi-spoke wheels. While there was no word on the interior, there was a promise that inside would be a mix of carbon fiber, wood, Alcantara, and high-quality leather.

So how did the final version fare? Everything starts out in the front. The nose for instance comes with a number of carbon fiber pieces. While the front fascia’s air intakes have been made more pronounced, Mansory made sure to make the lower splitter have a more athletic feel. Through the use of the fender flares and the big side skirts, it allowed the 2017 Bentayga to look wider than it already is.

There are other carbon fiber trims that can be seen as well on the lower fascia. On the rear section, above the liftgate is a giant wing and below it is the sports exhaust system newly put in by Mansory. While the 23-inch wheels are fitted in as standard, offered as an option are the 22-inch units, though the wheels have been placed on each of the corners. Finally just under the window in the rear, mounted is a lip spoiler, made as well of carbon fiber.

As the first teaser released by Mansory did not reveal anything about the interior, it is now clear that the whole cabin has been remodeled. The pedals are new, same with the leather upholstery. Airbags fitted come with a new design and complement the features already mentioned. There are different Mansory-exclusive add-ons too.

In terms of engine, Mansory put in the bi-turbocharged W12 6.0-liter engine with output at 691 horsepower (515 kW), a far cry from the standard version’s 600 hp output. Torque has been increased as well from 664 lb.-ft. in the standard version to the 773 lb.-ft. (1,050 Nm) in Mansory’s version.

Clearly, words will be different from the real thing and with that said, those who want to get a closer look can attend the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas this month. This is where the Mansory Bentayga is slated to make its official public debut after which it will be made available to customers around the world.

Bentley Motors has just released the specs of the new Bentayga Diesel. Obviously, we couldn’t wait to share it here since it’s the first ever diesel model to come out of the British brand’s long automotive history.

To begin with, the diesel-powered SUV bears the world’s most powerful and fastest V8 powertrain. It goes without saying how Bentley’s highly advanced technology and expertise have helped them create this astonishing 32-valve, 4Litre, triple-charged diesel engine.

The Bentayga Diesel can go from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds with top speed of 270km/h. It also makes a very good 429bhp and 664lb-ft of torque unlike anything that is already there.

You can almost feel the Bentayga Diesel’s powerful torque even while at 1,000 rpm rev range. This effortless performance continues all the way to its peak. The new diesel performer employs the latest “clean technology” for the lowest CO2 emissions out of all Bentleys. With more than 621 miles of range, it only means you don’t have to fuel up too often when travelling from A to Z.

Bentley Motors is now unveiling the Flying Spur W12 S, the new flagship of its Flying Spur range. The Flying Spur W12 S is power, luxury and style fused into a single four-door Bentley. It is targeted towards customers seeking a more athletic Bentley that boasts of more power, torque and responsiveness.

In fact, this new Flying Spur flagship is powerful enough to cruise over 200 mph – making it the fastest Flying Spur to date. This sterling performance is thanks to its 6.0-liter, twin-turbo W12 engine that has been calibrated and tuned to deliver 635 PS (626 bhp) of max output (plus 10 PS) and 820 Nm (605 lb. ft.) of peak torque (plus 20 Nm), available from just 2,000 rpm.

Technically speaking, this amount of power allows the Flying Spur W12 S to achieve a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph), with the ability to dash from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds (0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds). Power from the twin-turbo W12 engine is translated to speed through the all-wheel-drive system. Thanks to a 40:60 rear-biased torque split, the Flying Spur W12 S is able to deliver sporty and dynamic driving experience in any road and weather condition.

Of course, these power-ups are backed by an array of upgrades and updates. For instance, the Flying Spur W12 S now boasts of better handling and more traction thanks to a new and exclusively tuned responsive suspension system. This suspension set-up also allows for a more refined ride, making the Flying Spur W12 S a great choice for both those who wanted to drive and those who wished to be chauffeured.

Its braking system could be specified with the optional carbon ceramic brakes that are available with black or red painted calipers. Agility has been improved with further calibrations for specific damper and stability controls.
