Recall is expanded for BMW M760Li xDrive over oil-leak risks

BMW saw a potential oil leak on the new M760Li, prompting them to recall the said vehicle last April. Today, a little over two months after issuing the first recall, BMW is once again recalling the M760Li for the same reason. While 97 examples have been initially affected, the latest recall notice covers a total of 206 vehicles as issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (or NHTSA).

One of the main reasons is the oil leaking from the oil cooler possibly going onto the front brakes, compromising the vehicle’s braking efficiency. The 2017 BMW M760Li xDrive sedan, which packs a total output of 592hp(600PS) and 590lb ft (800Nm) of torque, can go for a zero-to-62 mph sprint in only 3.9 seconds. Even if no injuries or accidents have been reported, recalling the affected vehicles is important to let them check and replace the engine oil cooler line or whatever is necessary to prevent any serious problems.

According to BMW, they will be working on the vehicles beginning August 7 and that the procedure will be free of charge and should not take more than two hours to complete. In spite of this, owners should wait to be contacted first by the dealership before bringing in their cars for a check-up.

Honda releases teaser photo of 2018 Accord, watch out for July 14 debut

The tenth-generation Honda Accord is coming our way. Honda recently announced that the 2018 year model will be revealed sooner than you guys expect, that is on July 14. The reveal will take place in Detroit at 11:00 am eastern time. And don’t stress if you can’t make it to the reveal as they will be streaming it live on YouTube. So as we wait for the day to come, Honda decided to first tease us with a photo posted online. And as you can see, the design elements sort of remind us of the current Civic.

Unlike the Civic, specifically the Type R that received some criticism based on its design, it seems like the Accord would not be getting the same negative reception. Based on what we have seen from a number of spy shots and the new teaser, the Accord is going to be one handsome model. In fact, the company itself said that it is probably the most premium and dramatically styled car.

But the 2018 Accord isn’t just about design, the company promises that it will be a fun car to drive. In terms of the engine, the Japanese marque revealed some details to us. First of all, the V6 has been replaced by a pair of turbocharged four cylinder mills combined with Honda’s next-generation hybrid system. But don’t worry if you were a fan of the smooth V6. Sources that have driven the pre-production model say that the new engine will make you forget about the V6.

2018 Honda Accord gets 2 turbo gas engines and next-gen hybrid system

Honda Accord has been considered by mid-size sedan buyers as the top choice if one is searching for an excellently built, low maintenance and respectable sporty vehicle for the previous years. Now the redesigned 2018 Honda Accord will follow an identifiable trend of utilizing turbos and transmission to boost both power and performance without fully neglecting fuel economy when it will be rolled out to dealers this fall.

10th-gen Honda Accord will be released in the latter part of this year. Honda revealed that when it will be released, the 2018 sedan will be equipped with an array of new and updated powertrains that includes 2 turbocharged gas engines and specifically the next-gen of the Japanese automaker's 2-motor hybrid system. For the standard sedan, Honda will provide it with a 1.5 turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, likely the version that is currently utilized in Civic and R-V models.

The official output of the sedan has not been released yet, but the Japanese automaker hinted that the engine will be offered with both a 6-speed manual or continuously variable transmission. The previous version of Accord's optional V6 engine will be replaced by a greater output, 2.0 L turbo-four that will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Pics: Tiger Woods’ 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG shows damage on driver side

Celebrated golfer Tiger Woods is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. On Memorial Day, various news reports disclosed that Woods was arrested under suspicion for driving under the influence. Specifically, police found him sleeping on the steering wheel and was arrested for the DUI.

While this may once again dent Woods' reputation, it comes as a relief that nothing worse happened. His 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is altogether a different story. Though rather sketchy, the photos revealed that there were flat tires with the sidewalls torn. There were even some significant tweaks that can be seen on the wheels, which themselves clearly look dirty.

According to a report by the Police Department of Jupiter, Florida, the driver side also showed some damage. Looking at the photos though, the rather obvious damages look to be the loosened fender liner on the model's front wheel well. In addition, it appears that the front fascia has been dislodged. Given the fact that the driver side's front and rear wheels reveal some damage, one explanation could be that Woods may possibly have clipped something.

After a prototype version of the BMW 1 Series 120i sedan – sans any disguise – was spotted in Munich, Germany early this year, many interested and potential customers had their hopes up that the German premium carmaker would offer the front-wheel-drive 1 Series Sedan in Europe. But to their dismay, BMW doesn’t plan to immediately bring the 1 Series Sedan from China to Europe, according to Autocar, citing a source from the German luxury carmaker.

While the new 1 Series Sedan is part of the BMW’s offering, it is not being offered in Europe since this so-called baby Bimmer is an exclusive product targeting affluent customers in China. BMW officially introduced the 1 Series Sedan at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, hoping to take advantage of a new generation of car buyers that might shy away from larger premium vehicles that are currently the trend in the country.

BMW has already made it clear that the BMW 1 Series Sedan will only be offered in China. Autocar’s BMW source said the carmaker won’t be rushing the introduction of the 1 Series sedan outside of China, even though rival saloon model from Audi (Audi A3 saloon) managed to achieve much success in the global stage. Likewise, BMW’s reluctance to launch the 1 Series Sedan in Europe bears quite a contrast to a recent confirmation from rival Mercedes-Benz that its A-Class line-up will feature a saloon model in 2018.

In a bid to stay fresh and more relevant in today’s segment, Skoda is giving the Superb a mini makeover for the 2018 model year. Similar to the newly refreshed Octavia and Kodiaq, the iconic Superb will be featuring new technologies and premium infotainment system for the Columbus, Bolero, Amundsen and Swing.

To start with, Skoda replaces the outdated 8.0-inch infotainment system with the latest 9.2-inch flush glass high resolution infotainment screen on the Columbus. There are also the newly updated Bolero and Amundsen infotainment systems with larger displays measuring 6.5- 8 inches wide. Its entry level version, the Superb Swing is also getting a new 6.5-inch diagonal display.

As part of the mini overhaul, the Superb for the first time will come with Park Distance Control and Maneuver Assist in extended mode. This new smart feature can sense if there are obstacles and at the same time, cautions the driver with an audio and visual alert. To prevent crash, the system is programmed to activate the brakes in case the driver disregards the early warning.

In 2014, Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations revealed the F-Type Project 7. At that time, it was said to be the fastest accelerating road car carrying a 5.0-liter Supercharged V8 engine, producing 567 horsepower, reaching 62 miles in 3.9 seconds, and maxing out at 186 miles per hour.

Years have passed and Jaguar SVO is back at it again, now with an XE SV Project 8 - that’s quite a mouthful. Jaguar promised that the XE will be having a 5.0-liter V8 engine under its hood, enabling it to produce 600 horsepower. Therefore, living up to their promise, and this will soon be the most powerful road-legal Jaguar.

The company aims at well-heeled collectors, and to keep the model exclusive and limited, only 300 units of the super-saloon will be produced. And each one of them will be hand-assembled by SVO in Coventry, UK, where their Technical Center is located.

Aside from the officially confirmed BMW 8 Series, the next generation BMW M5 (F90) is getting a lot of attention from the fans, enthusiasts and even potential customers around the world. Just recently, more details have surfaced about the sixth generation of the BMW M5, courtesy of a leak from a preview event in Belgium.

According to one of the attendees who leaked the information, BMW M Belux hosted the event – a celebration of the launch of the “BMW M League" loyalty program -- on May 23, 2017, in a warehouse in Belgium. Attendees didn’t know they were up for a big surprise when they were whisked into a well-lit discovery room where a new BMW M5 (F90) was being displayed.

However, there were no pictures of the previewed M5, since all visitors have to place their smartphones into a pouch before entering the discovery room. Likewise, organizers implemented a strict security to ensure that no one would take a picture of the new BMW M5. However, all visitors were given the freedom to touch, tinker the iDriver and even sit in the new M5. They could even pop the hood and open the cargo space.

Toyota Camry is many things but exciting isn’t one of its frequent descriptions. That’s why throughout the years, Toyota has been stepping up its game for the said model in terms of design. We’re pleasantly surprised that the 2018 Camry that we first had a glimpse of at the Detroit Auto Show is offering a stronger, sexier appeal. Not only did it impress us, now people are excited for it to be out in showrooms. But that’s not all, Toyota also revealed Camry’s two new variants - the Modellista and the TRD.

We can make guesses but we can’t guarantee that the packages are more than skin deep. Performance figures have not been announced yet but one thing we know is that the 2018 Camry’s range topping model will come with a 3.5 liter V6 that can yield up to 295 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed direct-shift automatic transmission. The new generation will provide a more comfortable and dynamic driving experience.

Here’s the thing, both the Modellista and the TRD variants may never be shipped out of Japan since the model is based on the Japanese version of the Camry. But don’t lose hope. The fact that Toyota came up with the 850-horsepower sleeper Camry, suggests that the manufacturer is serious about revamping their cars’ performance.

Did it ever cross your mind that a BMW M3 (F80) would look extra sexy with carbon fiber details here and there? Well, you’re not the only one who thinks that, and this particular San Marino Blue example will make you drool.

The four-door sedan definitely has the DNA of a high performance sports car with sporty lines. BMW has yet to officially take the wraps off the next generation of the BMW M5 high performance sporty sedan, but it has already dropped a number of juicy details that would surely make interested customers, fans and enthusiasts salivate.

First and foremost, the sixth generation of the BMW M5 will be the first BMW unit to feature the M xDrive system, a groundbreaking all-wheel drive technology that allows four-wheel drive vehicles to be as sporty as their rear-wheel drive counterparts.

Specifically, the new BMW M5 is an all-wheel drive sporty sedan as a default, but its drivetrain features a rear-biased setup. This means that the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine of the next generation BMW M5 (F90) sends power – through an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission – to the rear wheels most of the time. But when the system detects that the rear wheels transmit less or no power to the road and there is a need for more traction, the M xDrive would make it possible to send power to the front wheels as well. This transforms the new BMW M5 into a true all-wheel drive sports sedan. Since this capability is adaptive and makes use of predictive technology, the sixth generation of the BMW M5 is able to employ different drive configurations for various driving conditions.

If you are longing to get the carbon-fiber limited edition of the BMW M3 sedan – the BMW M3 CRT (E90) –chances that you would be able to get your hand on one would be very slim. This is primarily because less than 100 examples (67 units to be exact) were only built, and all of them were sold out even before the German premium carmaker released the BMW M3 CRT to the market.

Now, one of those 67 rare examples of the BMW M3 CRT E90 (Carbon Racing Technology) is being sold, and it is fairly new. Built for the 2013 model year, the odometer of this BMW M3 CRT E90 has recorded only 382 km (237 miles), which means that it hasn’t been driven that much for around four years. Moreover, this example of the M3 CRT E90 hasn’t been registered, making it the only M3 CRT that is unregistered.

Being sold at duPont Registry, this M3 CRT E90 is one of the only two examples in the United States. Although it wasn’t sold in North America, car has been federalized for Show & Display use, which means it could be driven legally in 49 states for up to 2,500 miles a year. To be driven in California, this car needs to be certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Honda just released the new and affordable 2017 Civic Si, available as a coupe or a sedan. The best part is that it is already out in the market since May 13, and Honda just announced it a day before it went on sale.

We do know that coupes usually cost more than sedans, but for the Civic Si, that is not the case. Both models have a price tag of $24,775 for the base version, inclusive of the $875 destination fee. And if customers opt for performance tires, that will be a total of $24,975. Still very affordable, I would say.

Though it may not be as powerful as its main competitors, the Civic Si is still a very good choice, perhaps for first-time car owners. Either the sedan or the coupe will come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 205 horsepower (153 kilowatts) and 192 pound-feet (260 Newton-metres) of torque. The front wheel drive is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, and there is a limited-slip differential to maximize traction.

While most BMWs come with a long list of finishing touches for customers to choose from, this BMW M3 owner wants more than the standard and optional add-ons that are available. After all, an eye-popping BMW M3 in Satin Lime Green Chrome will grab more attention if it comes with a bronze colored wheel set. Sounds fair enough.

When customers take the road-less-travelled, it’s always the best time for after-market tuning specialists to take over. And so this is how it all started.

To put it more into details, this BMW M3’s very visible exterior which comes in Satin Lime Green Chrome paintwork was further enhanced with Velos Designwerks wheels. The secret is in the bronze beauty which is made of S15 monoblock forged concave measuring 20x10 (at the front) and 20x12 (at the rear).

The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show may still be far from our sight but there’s no stopping "an insider" from sharing the latest scoop about the new BMW. The revelation came from a BMW employee no less as he recounted his experience over a recent social media post. Apparently, the source went all the way to South Korea to see the latest M5 F90. As expected, he has juicier bits in tow as he goes back to work.

According to the informer, the upcoming M5 will be the first to come with an all-wheel-drive to match Mercedes-AMG’s E63 model. If this is true, then, it is very likely that a Competition Package will be offered as an optional upgrade.

Several speculations have actually floated since the initial test runs of the BMW M5 had been spied by different sources. This time around, the insider’s account may be the most reliable information we could hold onto so far. It’s to such a great degree that the new model is believed to take its design cues from the recent rendering of the M5. Minus the air scoops at the fenders, the new M5’s carbon roof will possibly adopt the same design as that of the M6 Coupe while the rear end will come with the usual M lip trunk spoiler. At least according to the leaked information.

After launching the latest version of the BMW M550i xDrive, the German carmaker is now introducing its diesel counterpart -- the new M550d xDrive (G30/G31). Available either as a sedan or as touring model, the new M550d xDrive offers less output than the M550i xDrive, but has significantly more torque than the gasoline model.

Operating behind the scenes is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that could be considered as the world’s most powerful of its kind in the automotive area. This six-cylinder diesel mill employs multi-stage turbocharging with four turbochargers, allowing it to provide up to 400 hp (294 kW) of output at 4,400 rpm and up to 560 lb.-ft. (760 Nm) of torque available from 2,000 rpm.

Interestingly around 332 lb.-ft. (450 Nm) of torque is readily available from just 1,000 rpm. In comparison, the M550i xDrive is powered an M Performance Turbo 8-cylinder TwinPower 4.4-liter engine with a pair of twin-scroll turbochargers and a High Precision Injection system. This gasoline engine could deliver 456 hp of max output at 5,550 rpm and 480 lb.-ft. of torque available at 1,800 rpm. When compared to the previous M550d xDrive, the latest iteration is more powerful by 19 hp (14 kW) and 15 lb.-ft. (20 Nm).

Wagon buyers who prefer their vehicle to be luxurious, you will have an entirely brand new selection at the latter part of this year. Porsche will start rolling out 4 fresh models of the Panamera Sport Turismo at the end of 2017 in the US. Moreover, the local dealers are appealing for a 5 seat sedan, but it seems their demands will be met with a solution from the German automaker.

SUVs and crossovers are the latest buzz at these times, leading the sales in the global market. However it is shocking to see that the wagons are not giving up without a fight nowadays. Now, the luxurious German automaker has made one that will be the newest member of their claim, but Porsche doesn't literally use the wagon description of its long roofed Panamera.

The 2nd gen Porsche Panamera sedan (but it is more of a hatchback than a sedan) is a standard 4 seater vehicle that is tempting to own, but if you want to fit 3 more companions in the back then you can opt for a Panamera Sport Turismo.

Earlier this week, the revamped 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class was revealed ahead of the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. As expected, Mercedes Benz’s flagship model is now offered in several variants including the AMG specced sedan. Unique to this update is the suite of driver assistance technologies and active safety features under its latest Intelligent Drive system.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the new enhancements on the S-Class are the closest it could get to actual autonomous driving. The most notable ones include the new Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Active emergency Stop Assist, Active Steering Assist and Active Distance Assist Distronic feature. It also comes equipped with the new Route Based Speed Adaptation technology that adjusts the vehicle’s speed according to the information seen on the map such as exit ramps, toll booths, roundabouts, junctions and curves.

Most mid-cycle updates are not technically considered as facelifts. Instead, the automaker performs a few tweaks here and there to bring a fresh new offer for their customers. This time however, the luxury sedan is almost not the same as its previous model.

Not so long ago, the 2018 Genesis G80 Sport made its debut at the 2016 LA Auto Show. But at that time, it did not have a price yet. And now that there is a price tag on it released along with the rest of the 2018 model lineup, it turns out the Sport model isn’t a cheap one.

And it doesn’t end there. If you compare last year’s prices to the rates of the 2018 models - particularly the G80 3.8 and the G80 5.0 Ultimate, you will notice a slight price hike. And that does not even include the extra $25 increase in destination fee.

Let us get in detail about the changes in price. For the G80 3.8 rear-wheel drive, the 2017 model had a price of $41,400, while the 2018 model is at $41,750, there is a noticeable difference of $350 for this model. Similarly, the all-wheel drive version also gets a $350 increase, with the 2017 model at $43,900, and the new 2018 model at $44,250. But what is really surprising is the price increase of the G80 5.0 Ultimate rear-wheel drive. The 2017 model was once priced at $54,500, and now that the 2018 model is out, it comes with a price tag of $57,000 - that is a $2,450 increase from the older model. Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive variant of the 2018 G80 5.0 Ultimate is at $59,500.
