Zero to 60 Designs revises GTT logo to distinguish it from Mustang GT, Ford GT

Celebrated tuner Zero to 60 Designs revealed that when it displayed its GTT Concept car during the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (2016 SEMA Show) held in Las Vegas, the model was received well by many of those who participated. However the tuning company said while the most of the attention was positive, the legal team of Ford communicated with the company regarding the concept car. To its credit, said legal team did not issue a cease-and-desist letter but instead wanted clarification with the name.

In line with this and in order to avoid additional confusion, the tuner said that it will be redesigning the logo and that the official name is not the Ford Mustang GTT but instead Zero to 60 Designs GTT. This move to avoid any legal issues is not without basis as such things are common in the industry. California-based Singer Vehicle Design for example had to face legal action initiated by Porsche to make sure that the modified cars by the latter was not made by the former.

Thus the practice now is to name it as the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design. It is obvious that Zero to 60 Designs does not want to experience the same with Ford. Zero to 60 Designs though reveals that it has never called its concept car as the Ford Mustang GTT and it is likely that the confusion is due to the phrase being used by several automotive-related publications.

Ringbrothers displays souped-up Winnebago RV with 900 hp

For those who already own a Winnebago, enjoyment while being on the road comes fairly easy. Even then, some people also want a vehicle where they can get a thrill every time the accelerator is pressed. At the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (2016 SEMA Show) held in Las Vegas, Ringbrothers revealed that such a vehicle is possible with its version of the 1972 Winnebago Bravo. In simple terms, this well-known car tuner and builder has managed to transform a Winnebago to a speed beast.

Powering this Ringbrothers variant of the Winnebago is the supercharged LS408 V8 engine with excellent output of 900 hp. This power is then channelled to the wheels through the 4L80 transmission from General Motors. However when looked at its exterior, one would hardly think that it contains this amount of power.

Some personalization and improvements have been implemented on the interior and this is helped with the mint green paint theme. Inside, the use of glass as a cover for the engine allows the supercharger to be seen. There is also the wooden floor, flat screen TV, and neon lights. A boat engine can even be seen on one of its walls.

Engraved Subaru WRX STI on display at 2016 SEMA

Held every year in Las Vegas in Nevada, the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (SEMA Show) is one where customers and enthusiasts alike are bound to see some of the most wonderful creations in the automotive industry. Indeed, there have been a lot of exciting new models. However when it comes to odd offerings, this year is no different.

ACE Alloy Wheels has included in its display an engraved version of the Subaru WRX STI. This customized sterling silver STI was the work of Japanese tuning company Corazon, which created the body kit that included a deep chin spoiler and large fender flares. The kit also allows for changes on the rear diffuser, side skirts, and front bumper. After that, the swan-neck wing is added together with the titanium exhaust system. While this may appear to be unusual on a sedan, it appears such practices are common, if not popular, where Corazon hails from.

For this customized STI though, it was not all about Corazon as the Japanese company collaborated with ACE Flowform, which was responsible for putting in a drift car spoke design and the blue alloy that had an overlip design.

IND Distribution showcases its own BMW M2 and M4 builds at 2016 SEMA Show

Chicago-based tuning shop IND Distribution would not let its expertise in tuning BMW cars go unnoticed as it joins the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leveraging its knowledge of BMW cars, IND is showcasing two elegantly stunning projects based on the new BMW M2 and the new BMW M4 Coupe.

According to IND, its M2 build was meant to complement the M4 Coupe while presenting some of its newly developed parts and components. In addition, the SEMA projects are also IND’s tribute to BMW’s factory-built racing program. In these new projects for the 2016 SEMA Show, IND teamed up with BBS and Rays Engineering/Advan to ensure that its versions of the new M2 and M4 Coupe successfully become a reality. Likewise, IND tapped the services of Brembo, Eventuri, Eisenmann, KW and RKP while infusing its own solutions to come with the most desirable setup for the SEMA show-bound M2 and M4 Coupe.

The M2 build makes use of the newly designed GT kit from Brembo. This kit enhances the braking system’s thermal capacity by employing a more rigid caliper, larger swept pad area and thicker brake disc. The build also features an air intake system from Eventuri that provides the signature Eventuri intake roar. This intake system is complemented by a prototype M2 exhaust system from Eisenmann that is designed to give off different audio tracks when the valve is opened or closed.

When Toyota first revealed that it will be showcasing a total of 30 vehicles for the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association, enthusiasts could hardly contain their excitement. However what is even more thrilling is that six of these have been modified to show just how extreme Toyota’s models can go.

According to the Japanese automaker, each of these six models either honors the brand’s heritage, looks at the current state, or projects what the future will be. There are also models that appear to be a combination of these three. Since the brand will be having what can be considered as the largest exhibit in the history of the SEMA Show, it is not surprising that Toyota went on this path. Below are the six models that Toyota took a chance on and gave a number of improvements.

The first is the Swagger Wagon, which is actually the Sienna in blue. Some would call this as the height of luxury when it comes to transportation, with the best description of the Swagger Wagon being that it is similar to a flying jet. While this minivan is now wider and lower, the brand put a number of enhancements composed of carbon fiber as well as those inspired by racing. However, the interior is what makes it stand out given its use of custom-leather, capacity for wi-fi connectivity, and the inclusion of a high-end theater system. With all these on the inside, customers are likely not to concern themselves with how the exterior actually looks.

Like many automakers, Mazda North American Operations knows what the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association Show (SEMA) is all about. Held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, the event allows many designers the chance to think out of the box and come up with a number of excellent dream cars. For the 2016 SEMA Show, Mazda will be exhibiting the more ruthless yet lighter MX-5 Miata Speedster Evolution and the MX-5 RF Kuro. The MX-5 RF Kuro in particular is based mainly on the 2017 MX-5 RF retractable fastback and slated to be released early next year to the U.S. market.

It was during the 2015 SEMA Show when Mazda first unveiled the MX-5 Speedster. Compared to the MX-5 soft top on which it was based, it weighed 2,080 lbs., a reduction of 11% or about 150 lbs. After that, the MX-5 Speedster was then taken to the Goodwood Festival of Speed held in U.K., where it underwent the 1.16-mile hill climb. Later the model was brought back to Mazda Design Americas located in Irvine, California, where a team started to look into how to make this version even lighter.

The design team was led by none other than Design Manager Ken Saward, who took out everything beneath the dashboard and made sure to replace all the gauges with a digital display. In addition, the team also removed the Brembo brakes in the front and instead used the calipers and rotors of the MX-5 Sport and Grand Touring, as they were lighter. Furthermore, the standard battery which weighed 25.1 lbs., was replaced with the Braille GreenLite G20 Lithium battery which only weighed 4.5 lbs.

Kia Motors believes that in the future, cars will not only be customized to fit our lifestyles but will also be able to drive on their own.

Thus for the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association, Kia put on display four concept models meant to explore diverse and active lifestyle from business travel or even sports entertainment.

According to KIA exec Michael Sprague, Kia has been in the U.S. market for 22 years and has been proud of the fact that the brand has helped people meet the demands of a diverse and active lifestyle. The 2016 SEMA Show, he added, is a way for the brand to showcase what the future can be.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, or SEMA, has long been an event where large automakers like Toyota can display a wide assortment of the wonderful and the odd.

For the 2016 SEMA Show, Toyota has managed to come out with a wide range consisting of 30 vehicles. Each of the vehicles shown either contains an extreme aspect, explores the present, or honors the past. In some vehicles though, it is clear these three qualities come into play.

Six of these so-called extreme builds are the brand’s highlight as 4 them are entered as part of the show’s “Battle Of The Builders” competition.

Chevrolet unveiled during the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (2016 SEMA Show) two concepts aimed at displaying just how versatile the Silverado is.

The first is the Alaskan Edition which is founded on the Silverado 2500HD. To overcome even the heaviest of winters, the brand made sure to put in a stainless steel bespoke snowplow. In addition, to make sure that the snowplow kept its even stance once attached, a leveling kit is included.

Of course, having a snowplow would be useless without the power to move the vehicle and this is where the Duramax 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine comes in with its output of 332 kW (445 hp) and peak torque at 1,234 Nm (910 lbs.-ft.).

Cars being displayed at different auto shows are usually displayed on the floor just by themselves. However, since the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show or 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosts the unusual, we can expect some carmakers or tuners to make use of bizarre methods display their show cars. And that is just what Acura is doing at the 2016 SEMA Show for its highly anticipated Acura NSX GT3.

Instead of sitting by itself ever lonely, Acura NSX GT3 sits on a custom trailer seemingly towed by a 2017 Acura MDX. Both are customized works and so is the trailer. Initially developed by Acura’s Japanese race engineering team, the NSX GT3 has been developed to prove that the NSX – while serving as the pinnacle expression of Acura Precision Crafted Performance – could perform basically as well as in GT3 racing.

The new Acura NSX GT3 and the NSX actually have a number of similarities, although the race car has been made distinct enough to enable it to compete in the GT3 class. For instance, both have the same overall design with similar fascias. Both have the same headlights as well as the same precision crafted front grille.

Slammed vehicles, with their road-hugging stance, are usually not welcomed from the functional point of view. However, slammed vehicles are a sight to behold from the design point of view. Currently in Las Vegas, Nevada, Chevrolet is featuring a slammed version of its Gen 6 Camaro – the 2017 Camaro SS Slammer Concept.

Wrapped in Dazzling Black exterior, the 2017 Camaro SS Slammer concept at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (2016 SEMA Show) show dons a road-hugging stance, several exclusive custom elements and a number of expressive details.

The modified Camaro’s low and slammed stance is helped by the fact that it features an air-adjustable suspension and rides on custom 22-inch front and 24-inch rear chrome wheels wrapped in large 245/30R22 wheels in front and 275/25R24 in the rear.

When it comes to customization (or personalization), one of the most common parts of the cars usually replaced to make more exclusive or suitable to the owner’s taste is its wheels. There is nothing wrong with stock wheels, it is just that custom and optional rims are usually lighter and more elegant.

At the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada, there is a gathering of companies with expertise in manufacturing specialized non-stock wheels. One of these companies is California-based MKW Alloys, which is showcasing various highly specialized wheels from its RSR luxury and Hostile Wheels off-road wheel brands.

As part of its engagement in the 2016 SEMA Show, MKW Alloys has fitted a heavily customized 2016 Ford Mustang with new one-piece forged magnesium wheels -- in 20x10 design – further improving its overall performance of the car while providing less stress to the engine. MKW Alloy has also prepped five project cars for the 2016 SEMA. These project cars include modern luxury vehicles, lightweight muscle cars and rugged off-road as well as luxury trucks.

Vorsteiner has unveiled at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (2016 SEMA Show) styling packages not only for the McLaren 570S but also for the McLaren 570GT. With these style packages, the entry-level supercar of this Woking-based company can be transformed to an excellent vehicle that looks a lot similar to the P1 GTR.

For those not familiar, the Mclaren P1 GTR is considered as one of the most outrageous modern vehicles there is. This model was designed not only to allow for record lap times but to pump the driver full of adrenaline. Since this version is designed for the tracks, the hybrid powertrain gets power courtesy of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine with output of 789 hp (800 PS) and electric motor which can offer 197 hp (200 PS).

Overall output of the powertrain is therefore at 986 hp (1,000 PS). This racing-only version, when compared to the standard P1, has the track in the front wider by 80 mm with the ride height lowered by 50 mm. Its entire body has a number of aerodynamic features like the wing in the rear which has been positioned above the bodywork by as much as 400 mm. Because of this, the McLaren has a body that can create downforce of 1,455 lbs. (660 kg) when running at 150 mph.

Mazda revealed that it has long been committed to providing customers with a driving experience that is free from any trappings in addition to being lightweight.

Thus at Las Vegas’ 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (2016 SEMA Show), Mazda will be unveiling two sporty MX-5 concepts, namely: the MX-5 Speedster Evolution Concept and the MX-5 RF Kuro.

Those who got the chance to go to Las Vegas and attend the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (2016 SEMA Show) are clearly in for a treat as Vorsteiner has revealed its McLaren 570-VX program. However it doesn’t seem to be enough for this celebrated California-based tuner as they went ahead and unveiled the Ferrari 458-VX program.

Although the actual Ferrari 458 Italia is no longer manufactured as it was replaced by the 488 GTB, the modifications being implemented by Vorsteiner gives this model a more modern day look. The upgrades also help enhance this vehicle’s road presence while making sure that the design of the exterior gets that extra ruthlessness and aggression.

Starting on the rear section, one can see that there is now a trunk lip spoiler. Since it is composed of carbon fiber, a lightweight material, it helps enhance the downforce and ensures that the rear wheels remain on the ground. Still on the rear, there is a bespoke bumper where a diffuser has been integrated as well as a set of tailpipes with blue tips. While it is clear that the modifications done on the rear are indeed extensive, the same is true for the front end.

While we may want the best engine for our cars, the reality is that not every engine is suitable for every vehicle. However, there are adapter kits, like the ones being offered by Mopar. Thus, for those who own an old muscle car but want to fit in a Hemi engine, then Mopar’s offering is the one for you.

This offering is not surprising considering that the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show has always been an event where everyone can display some interesting ideas and this year is no different. Thus when FCA revealed some models way ahead of the 2016 SEMA Show, Chrysler knew that it needed to show as well what the Mopar brand has been doing. For this year’s show, Mopar came up with six different concepts: a Jeep, a minivan, two RAM models, and two Dodge models.

For the crate engine being offered, all that’s needed is to get a Hemi 345, which is a 5.7-liter unit, or the 392, a 6.4-liter version. However the engines should have a make of at least 2014 for the kit to work. After that, all that’s needed is to get Mopar’s latest adapter kit and you can easily slot in the engines mentioned to any vehicles having a make lower than 1975. As such, this can include a Plymouth Barracuda, Dodge Challenger, or a Dodge Charger, to name a few.
