Tuner RevoZport rolls out RZG-700 performance package for G63 and G65 AMG

Nowadays, there has been a surge of modified Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons, and we are happy with all that. Only recently, the German automaker powerhouse revealed its 2 deluxe, limited editions for the G63 and G65 SUVs. However, if they are not your cup of tea then tuner RevoZport got you covered, as they are now offering their latest upgrade package that makes the squared shape SUV even more daring. The G63 and G65 are not exactly innocent looking from the start but now RevoZport has raised their intimidating features to exciting heights.

This menace vehicle has an astounding 1,995 mm width, making it as wide as the humongous G500 4x4 Squared. Among the modified features are the brawny wheel arches that stretch the sides by about 70 mm. Due to its broadness, wider wheels can be put in by G-Wagon. Customers may also opt for a portal system that can snugly fit the G63 or G65 with wheels of the G500 4x4. If you are a big fan of the carbon fiber finish, then you would like this part. A set of striking carbon fiber vents take up most of the hood.

It also serves another purpose- the designs fuse a smart "water trap" system that makes sure water doesn't enter the engine area. Other exterior upgrades include a noticeable front splitter with unified LED daytime running lights, carbon mirror caps, roof spoiler and a carbon spare wheel cover. The carbon fibre feature doesn’t stop there, as the interior of the G63 and G65 RevoZport has been enclosed with extensive carbon fibre.

2018 MG XS compact SUV is headed to the UK this winter

Now owned by Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor, British auto company MG is introducing its latest sports utility vehicle in the United Kingdom – the new MG XS. A little brother of the MG GS, the new MG GS compact SUV will go on sale in the UK in winter 2017, months after it was unveiled at recently concluded London Motor Show.

In case you missed it, MG is launching a new baby SUV in China, the new MG ZS. The MG XS is basically a rebadged version of the ZS, although it is expected that some changes would be made – mostly in the area of mechanicals and in the cabin – to allow this baby SUV to comply with regulations and be marketed in the UK. It will compete against the likes of Nissan Juke, SsangYong Tivoli, Dacia Duster and Suzuki Vitara.

MG – through its parent SAIC – is already selling the ZS in China. The new MG ZS is powered by 1.0 liter three-cylinder turbo engine that provides 123 bhp of max output and 125 lb.-ft. (175 Nm) of peak torque. This amount of power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, allowing the MG ZS to sprint from standstill to 62 mph is just 9.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 mph. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT dominates Hot Rod at Santa Pod Raceway in UK

Jeep has shown just how powerful the Grand Cherokee SRT truly is. Considered to be one of the brand’s top-performing vehicles, this model managed to beat the Hot Rod Coupe, fitted with the HEMI engine, in a quarter of a mile drag race done at the Santa Pod Raceway in the U.K.

Driven by none other than UK’s very own drag racing champion Stuart Doignie, the Grand Cherokee SRT crossed the line in 13.5 seconds beating the Coupe, with Kelvin Dunn inside, by 0.9 seconds. Not that surprising really since it is powered by the HEMI 6.4-liter engine. With Doignie’s skill, the engine was able to deliver 468 hp with acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. For the quarter-mile stretch, the Grand Cherokee SRT was able to cover it in under 14 seconds.

Doignie said that he was truly captivated by the Grand Cherokee SRT’s speed and raw power. He added that while he been behind the wheel in a number of dragster vehicles running at the Santa Pod, this is the first time he has been in a model that was made for the road. It is extremely quick off the line, he said further.

Jean-Marc Gales, Company Chief of Lotus, previously announced that a Lotus SUV is 4-5 years away from now, same with the rest of the new range. Now a futuristic render of a Lotus SUV is in our midst, and we are hoping that the upcoming SUV will be unveiled earlier than reported.

The futuristic render of the Lotus SUV is made possible by Angelo Polo Gallardo. Despite the years it will take before the SUV will be unleashed to the public, it is still virtually impossible to predict the design of the future Lotus SUV. However it did not hinder Gallardo, who came up with his own rough sketch of the vehicle by incorporating a number of recognizable Lotus design pattern and mixed them to come up with a sporty and compact SUV that is noticeably smaller in size compared to the Audi Q2. It is also said to be sold as a 3 door SUV. B

ut beyond its windshield and side windows that are painted over, the alleged Lotus "Evolve" will sport a more aggressive shape that will be angled sharply towards a lower front end. Distinctive lines found on the doors extend up from above the front wheel arches passing the small side windows and over to the B-pillars. Other elements that are discussion-worthy are the designs of its angular headlights and taillights, its big wheel, and its distinct green and yellow pain finish.

When the German automaker powerhouse BMW revealed its Vision Next 100 Concept, the vehicle looked like it belonged to a sci-fi movie with its futuristic flexible skin-like body and radical interior. Now BMW has officially announced that it will send the futuristic automobile into production probably around 2021 in an effort to expand its i-sub trademark of electric vehicles. However, the production iNEXT will likely not look as cool and radical as the fundamental concept.

The BMW 7 series was considered the company's flagship unit for a long time, but all that will possibly change once the iNext will be released with an full electric powertrain. This futuristic vehicle from Bavaria will possibly be produced as a crossover if the rumours circulating are true. The German automaker disclosed that the iNext will be a "bigger vehicle", and BMWBLOG has it on good authority that it will be perhaps identical with regards to its shape and size as the Jaguar I-Pace that is anticipated to arrive probably this year.

The German automaker also further revealed that it will bring to play the self-driving tech that will enable the iNext to pass the Level 3 Autonomy requirements for it to be made worthy of its current position as BMW's range topper. Level 3 autonomy will allow the vehicle to drive itself in most situations, but will still need a human driver that will intervene if needed. But the iNEXT isn't the only one to boast a Level 3 autonomy, the bragging rights belong to the 2018 Audi A8 as it will be the first ever production vehicle to have a Level 3 autonomy. However, it won't be available from day one due to the laws and regulations need to be updated first before allowing it.

Toyota's legendary four-wheel sport utility vehicle has been regarded as an iconic vehicle and has snatched up approval left and right over the 60 years that it has been released by the Japanese automaker. And now, Toyota Land Cruiser has added another achievement under its belt, the label of the "World's Fastest SUV". My oh my, we have a speed devil out here.

Previously at SEMA, Toyota gifted us the iconic Land Cruiser that is claiming to reach speeds of up 220 miles per hour. And the interesting part is that the we are talking about a vehicle that has an old-school body on frame model that has nearly 3 tons of 3 row seat leather seating that caters to 8 passengers. It is fitted with a 5.7 L V8 engine that can produce a whopping 381hp and has full four-wheel drive, and an $85,000 price tag. Considering its overall weight and built, we were doubtful that this SUV can go very fast, not to mention breaking speed records.

However, we were proved wrong by the Mega Land Cruiser, as it didn't only break the 220mph record. It also annihilated the 211 mph record held by a Brabus-modified Mercedes GLK V12 by completely speeding off to an impressive 230 mph. By now we are asking on how on earth did the Japanese automaker convert the normal Land Cruiser into a speeding maniac? All of these awesomeness starts with the boost. A pair of Garrett turbochargers were installed by scientists up at Toyota's Motorsports Technical Center, adding up to 55 lbs of pure boost.

Mansory is one of the aftermarket tuners that could turn a vehicle into an extreme creation. Its makeovers usually don’t only entail dramatic visual modifications but also include performance tweaks. Now, a Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 had such honor to receive one of Mansory’s extreme makeovers, and it looks menacingly splendid.

The Mercedes-AMG GLS63 is easily the S Class of the SUV world. In terms of power, luxury, spaciousness and even technology, the GLS63 could be considered as a dominant model. This is primarily why the GLS 63 premium performance SUV is one of the favorite vehicles that aftermarket tuners like to tweak. Brabus has already released its own turned version of the AMG GLS 63, the Brabus 850 XL. Now, it is Mansory’s turn to showcase its own interpretation of the AMG GLS 63.

Compared to the guise of a typical AMG GLS 63, the appearance of Mansory’s version simply looks more dominant and aggressive. Its more menacing looks aren’t just because of its dark finish, but also thanks to its wider body. Mansory widened the body of the AMG GLS 63 by 25 mm on the front and 40 mm on the rear. Moreover, the side skirts of this tweaked AMG GLS 63 were designed to lend the SUV lower yet more stretched looks.

Been thinking of getting yourself a 2017 Mercedes-AMG G63 or 65? If you have, then maybe you would like to get something more special. The company just revealed two new versions of the said models. The Exclusive Edition will cost you around $177,978 (€163,125) for the G63 and $314,100 (€287,658) for the G65. The latter is currently the second most expensive Mercedes out there. It follows the G650 Landaulet (with a hefty price tag of around $527,400 or €500,000).

The Exclusive Edition is nearly €12,000 more expensive than the base model. So what comes with the extra twelve grand?

The off-road truck comes with stainless steel underguard and AMG-branded side strips. Aside from that, the company will provide buyers with a spare wheel cover that comes in the same colour as the truck, and aluminum rub strip inserts. Of course, they’ll top this off with a fancy set of 21-inch 5-twin-spoke ceramic-polished wheels. If buyers aren’t into that, they can instead get a set of 21-inch wheels in black finish with high-sheen rim flanges and side rib strips accented with carbon fiber (for the same price, I believe). The Exclusive Edition only offers one new special colour that is the matte AMG Monza Grey Magno, but the regular colours are available too.

Three-row crossover SUVs are all the buzz right now especially among families. One such example is the Mazda CX-9 with its seating system along with outstanding options. The only problem is that the CX-9 is a bit too large to be a good fit in selected markets. This is what led the Japanese automaker to arrive at a nifty solution-- a more compact and dynamically designed 3-row SUV revealed as the CX-8.

The CX-9 has not been made available to Japanese auto dealers. There actually wasn’t a three-row SUV from Mazda until the CX-8. The needs of certain Japanese consumers weren’t being met. But all these will change as Mazda has said that by the latter part of the year, it will be launching the CX-8 in the Land of the Rising Sun. A single image stands as our first peek into the cabin of the six-seater CX-8. It revealed that the roof bends more as it approaches the rear compared to the CX-9.

The design is closely similar to that of the CX-4 on sale in China, but is built on a larger scale. The wheelbase of the CX-8 measures around 2,930 mm (115 inches) akin to the CX-9; however, the new SUV is 175 mm shorter overall. Moreover, the CX-8 is narrower, averaging around 129 mm. CX-8 has a similar width as the CX-5, measuring bout 1,840mm. Regarding the new SUV's height, it is much lower than the CX-9 as the CX-8 stands around 1,730 mm tall. However, the CX-8 is 55 mm taller than that of the CX-5. The buyers can choose from a six or seven seat vehicle. Revealed in the teaser image is a six-seat configuration in which the second row has an armrest and cup holders resting in the middle seat.

But if customers are still not satisfied with both models, or find the GLA too cramped or the GLC too pricey, then don’t you worry. Car and Driver has received information from Stuttgart saying that there will be another model that will join these two tentatively called the “GLB”. Rumours say that this mini G-Class is supposed to be a middle version of the GLA and the GLC.

A specifically altered Hyundai Santa Fe had recently set a new record for being the first ever passenger car to bravely drive across the freezing Antarctica and back again, travelling from Union Camp to McMurdo and heading back to Union Camp. Also the Santa Fe is the first wheeled passenger vehicle to make it across the Ross Ice Shelf, which officially makes the South Korean vehicle the coolest car out there.

Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, recently released a short reel showing the Antarctic quest of its Santa Fe equipped with a 2.2 L diesel engine. The quest happened in December last year and the team traveled over 3,600 miles (around 5,800 km) of icy territories in grueling conditions.

They were in for a long haul as the expedition team averaged a speed of only 17 miles per hour. They had to take it slow and steady, considering the dire need to check for weak points in the ice every now and then, not mentioning other obstacles they faced in the cold continent. They concluded the quest in 30 days.

Does the Honda Passport ring a bell to you? This was the first ever SUV that was sold by the Japanese automaker, but it was not that successful compared with other Honda models. Now the Japanese automotive company is planning to give the second life to the Passport.

The first SUV of Honda was sold from 1993 to 2002, which was clearly a tuned version of the Isuzu Rodeo featuring a 3.2 L V6 engine that can produce up to 205 hp. However after a dismal performance in the global market it was eventually replaced by the bigger Honda Pilot. By far this was not the only talks of different automakers vying to revive new trademarks of their once famous SUVs. Chevrolet is going to give the Blazer trademark another chance, also the American company Ford will also introduce the Bronco name again to the global market.

Lately there were talks that the Passport will have a second chance of redemption. Car and Driver stated in its blog that the Passport name was submitted by the Japanese automaker with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by last December. The application made a specific reference to the original trademark made for the Passport that dates back from May 11,1993.

For the past few months, several spy photos of Lincoln’s flagship SUV – the all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator – have been surfacing, showing its basic shape and a couple of modifications including the removal of its coverings. Shape-wise, the 2018 Navigator has a striking similarity with the Navigator Concept’s gullwing (showcased during last year’s New York Auto Show).

Unfortunately for the said gullwing, it never made it to production, which isn’t really surprising since most enthusiasts have always known of its fate. The various spoilers that have surfaced before the 2018 Navigator’s debut has, quite frankly, subdued the excitement and hype for the updated SUV.

Now, for those who are still eager to learn more about Lincoln’s freshly revamped flagship SUV, sit back and relax as we give to you a quick run-through of what’s in store for you.
