South Korean car company SsangYong recently revealed sketches of their upcoming SUV. We’re not always impressed by Korean car designs, but this one looks quite promising. Yup, it is the next-generation Rexton that was first seen at the 2016 Paris Motor Show as the LIV-2 concept. The production model will make its debut at the Seoul Motor Show next Thursday, as the company’s flagship model.
Mahindra & Mahindra, SsangYong’s parent company, acquired Italian car design firm Pininfarina in late 2015, for $28 million. Without certainty, the design company was likely involved in designing the SUV, thus the improved styling of both the exterior and the interior of the car.
The company had released several technical specifications of the Rexton. Its dimensions are: 191 inches (4,850mm) long, 75 inches (1,920 mm) wide, 71 inches (1,800) tall, and a wheelbase that extends to 113 inches (2,865mm). Many would agree that it is quite a large SUV.Read the entire article Here’s the latest teaser on SsangYong’s flagship model -- the 2018 Rexton
In a leaked image following a presentation held in China, we learned that Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda will soon unveil 2 more new SUVs in China, resulting in a four-model lineup. Of the 4 rumored vehicles, one has been revealed to the public - the seven seat Kodiaq.
The Kodiaq model will possibly receive the coupe treatment, a roofline raked to the rear end will be expected. Even though it will likely affect the Kodiaq's trunk capacity, it shouldn't be a big deal since the space inside will compensate as the SUV's interior has a large space.
Also seen on the powerpoint presentation are 2 vehicle outlines labelled "Model Q" and "Model K". There's much speculation that Model Q is foreseen to be a 2nd-generation Yeti and will be possibly built bigger to become a real to life crossover. The all new Yeti is planned to be unveiled on the latter part of the year and will likely be premiered at Frankfurt Motor Show around September and will be put on sale before this year concludes.Read the entire article Skoda Kodiaq Coupe, 2 new SUVs are confirmed to roll out in China
Land Rover's Design Director Gerry McGovern announced that he plans to bump off third-party styling houses and tuners from the worldwide market through the company's own Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, and aims to launch all-new vehicles built with exclusive features.
Due to the high demands of car design modification and aftermarket parts, McGovern is striving to introduce a more sophisticated and superior alternative of these automobiles in the hopes of drawing more clients to patronize the exclusivity of Land Rover vehicles. He mentioned that he would like to see more of the tuning studios design their own car, stating the fact that more and more of these studios are taking property and frequently profit off from these LV models. However, he didn't name any of the styling houses that bugged him.
Through this new division, he indicated that more work opportunities will be hopefully offered and quality will be much better compared to what tuning companies are dishing out. Stuart Adlard, the senior vehicle engineering manager for SVO, indicated that he wants the SVO to become as distinguished and lucrative as its German rival.Read the entire article Land Rover’s design director hopes to eliminate third-party tuners from competition
As Land Rover unfurled its new 2018 Range Rover Velar to the global public at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, a new special chronograph from Zenith is being displayed beside this newest member of the Range Rover family, also with the name Velar. It is not surprising though, since this special watch celebrates the launch of the new Range Rover Velar.
It is a small watch with a lengthy moniker -- “Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition.” If you are planning to the purchase a new 2018 Range Rover Velar (which comes with a starting price of $50,895), then this special watch would be the perfect complement ($8,700). Actually, it is the first time that Land Rover and Zenith had collaborated. It can be remembered that Zenith also created a special chronograph to celebrate the launch of the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic in September 2016.
Velar is not an entirely a new moniker for Land Rover. In 1969, Rover started a project that would lead to the creation of the Range Rover in 1970. Around 26 pre-production Range Rover prototypes were created but were needed to be concealed from others by the carmaker’s development engineers. To conceal its existence, these engineers referred to the prototypes as Velar, as derived from the Latin term ‘velare’ that means to veil or to cover.Read the entire article $8700 special edition watch from Zenith is the perfect match to the 2018 Range Rover Velar
If you’re a pet lover with strong preference for our canine friends, then this newest concept vehicle from Japanese carmaker Nissan would be to your liking. In fact, a dog-lover would want Nissan to turn this concept into a production vehicle in the nearest time as possible.
Nissan is introducing the all-new Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs Concept, which has been designed according to the preferences of most dog owners in the United Kingdom. The X-Trail 4Dogs concept was basically an offshoot of a recent survey conducted by The Kennel Club -- the largest organization for promoting dog welfare in the UK – and covering more than 1,300 dog owners.
According to the survey, around 98.7 percent of the survey respondents use their vehicles to transport their dog with 88.7 percent of dog owners doing that at least once a week. Moreover, around 90.5 percent of dog owners transport their pets in the car when travelling for at least 10 minutes. These indicate how important a vehicle is when transporting dogs from one place to another.Read the entire article Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs Concept is your pet's little mobile hotel
But now, the South Korean company is unveiling a new iteration of the XAV concept compact SUV at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show – the SsangYong XAVL (eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long). As its name indicates, it is much longer than the SsangYong XAV. In terms of the dimensions, the SsangYong XAV compact SUV concept measure 4,190 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. Its wheelbase measures 2,600 mm.
As for the new SsangYong XAVL, it measures 4,630 mm in length, 1,866 mm in width, 1,640 mm in height and 2,775 mm in wheelbase. This means that while the SsangYong XAVL is a little bit thinner (minus 14 mm) and shorter in height (minus 10 mm), it is much longer (plus 440 mm) than the SsangYong XAV. The increased length also resulted in a corresponding increase in wheelbase (plus 175 mm).
These increases in length and wheelbase in the SsangYong XAVL meant that this iteration of the carmaker’s compact SUV concept is able to offer more space in the back. This is the main reason why the SsangYong XAVL boasts of having a third row of seats – allowing it to accommodate up to seven passengers. In total, the SsangYong XAVL has seven independent seats for its seven occupants – two seats each on the first and third rows and three on the second row.Read the entire article SsangYong 7-seat XAVL compact SUV concept kicks off new-model lineup
The first premium sports utility vehicle from Citroen’s luxury sub-brand is creating waves at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. With the new DS 7 Crossback SUV, the new DS sub-brand is showing off to the world that the French carmaker can bring out its luxurious and premium side.
Customers of the new DS 7 Crossback could choose from one hybrid powertrain and Euro 6.2-compliant five conventional engines -- three petrol and two diesel. Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi Motors is indeed resurrecting a nameplate that has made its mark in four generations from 1989 to 2012. Yes, the Mitsubishi Eclipse moniker is back, but it won’t be a sports car anymore. Instead, Mitsubishi is now using the moniker to identify its latest crossover offering that makes its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
If you think you have already seen the face of Mitsubishi latest crossover, it is highly likely you have. This is because the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross boasts of being closely similar – especially on the front end -- to the carmaker’s previous design studies like the Mitsubishi XR-PHEV (2013 Tokyo Motor Show), Mitsubishi XR-PHEV II (2015 Geneva Motor Show) and the Mitsubishi eX concept (2015 Tokyo Motor Show).
Mitsubishi’s new compact SUV is fitted with a sharp body and a slightly raked roofline, making it appear like a “coupe SUV.” The seemingly slanting body of this new compact SUV features a prominent character line, as accentuated by the vehicle’s pronounced wheel arches. It also features a sharply truncated rear gate as well as short overhang.Read the entire article Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross compact SUV is on display at 2017 Geneva Motor Show
Times are changing quite fast. Before you know it, you’d have to say goodbye to your old CD collection for good. Ford earlier introduced the SmartLink 4G plugin connectivity for its older models to provide Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 8 smart devices simultaneously. Now, Ford is once again introducing another breakthrough with its latest in-vehicle live stream TV infotainment option. This time, the live TV streaming technology will be offered to some of its latest models; one of which is the 2018 Ford Expedition with dual headrest entertainment system viewable at the rear seats.
Passengers seated at the second row can get to enjoy their Slingbox subscription to watch live TV. The Slingbox is the first of its kind to be available as an in-vehicle TV platform. A so-called SlingPlayer app is needed to run the Slingbox device since both of these are products of the Sling Media company. How does it work? First, you need to connect your home cable or TV satellite to the Slingbox device. Together with SlingPlayer application, the built-in system can let you receive signal over the Internet.
The entertainment system comes with two monitors measuring eight inches each, built within the headrests of the font seats. It lets the passengers not miss on any live sport events, news streams, movies and videos whether from a satellite system or home cable with the use of their Slingbox account.Read the entire article SlingBox live stream TV to be made available on the new 2018 Ford Expedition
Slated for its premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show this coming week, Bentley introduces the Bentayga Mulliner ahead of its timetable. And what have we got so far? Well, let’s just say there’s an optional gold clock worth 154,000 USD and a champagne cooler to go with it.
Bentley’s “ultimate luxury SUV” was built by the British marque’s Mulliner bespoke division --- just in case the standard Bentayga model’s well-appointed cabin isn’t enough to please everyone on board. And that’s even after considering the fact that a regular Bentayga SUV already costs $200,000 and comes with an impressive level of luxury.
But since there is always room for improvement, it only means Bentley is no exception. However, if judging from the overall exterior, there seems to be nothing new as compared to the standard version of the SUV. At least in terms of shape.Read the entire article Countdown to Geneva: Watch out for the new Bentley Bentayga Mulliner
Bentley launched its Bentayga ultra-luxury SUV not too long ago. In fact, the Bentley Bentayga is still on its second model year, following its introduction in 2015 as a 2016 model. It quickly became a symbol of true opulence as it perfectly combines power, luxury and grandeur. However, if you think that the Bentley Bentayga has become old news or just needs some extra frills, you can always turn to Lumma Design.
Based in Winterlingen, Germany, Lumma Design has been known for creating customized elements for different vehicles of different builds and makes. For the Bentley Bentayga, Lumma Design has created an exclusive wide body kit for both the SUV’s W12 petrol and diesel versions.
This customized creation -- called as Lumma Design CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit – further heightened the grandeur of the Bentley Bentayga. Likewise, this Lumma Design CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit made the Bentley Bentayga appear wider, resulting to a more imposing presence on the road.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga receives new wide-body kit from Lumma Design
Soon, Land Rover will have four Range Rover offerings. Yes, the British auto company is adding a new model to its Range Rover lineup – the new Range Rover Velar coupe-SUV. If all goes well, Land Rover will reveal the new Range Rover Velar coupe-SUV to the global public on March 1, 2017, when the carmaker will also unfurl juicier details about its new offering.
According to the image of the four Range Rover SUVs, the new Range Rover Velar will be filling a slot between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. This means that the Range Rover Sport wouldn’t be the second smallest member of the lineup anymore, although it would remain as the second largest Range Rover. As a result of the addition of the Range Rover Velar, there will be a new size hierarchy in the Range Rover family. The smallest would be the Range Rover Evoque, followed by the Range Rover Velar and the Range Rover Sport. Still dominating the family in terms of size is the Range Rover.
The new Range Rover Velar will try to build on the success of the Range Rover Evoque, which was one of the main reasons why Jaguar Land Rover was able to report a huge surge in sales in full year 2016. For those who find the Range Rover Evoque too cramped but also consider the Range Rover Sport too large, the Range Rover Velar should be a good choice. In addition, the new Range Rover Velar should also be able to close the price gap between the Range Rover Evoque (£40,000) and the Range Rover Sport (£80,000). This means that customers who see the Range Rover Evoque as too small but couldn’t afford the Range Rover Evoque don’t have to cancel or delay their purchase.Read the entire article Land Rover unveils the all-new 2018 Range Rover Velar
SsangYong Motor Company revealed that it will be officially unveiling the XAVL SUV Concept during the 2017 International Geneva Motor Show on March 9-19, 2017.
XAVL stands for “eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long” and there is no doubt that it was the classic Korando model, released sometime during the 1990s, that served as its inspiration. It has a muscular and strong appearance that combined with innovative convenience features as well as the practicality present in a multi-purpose MPV. Inside, the XAVL concept can fit comfortably a total of seven passengers.
Aside from the excellent space provided in the interior, occupants will also get to enjoy user-friendly interface like the digital display and connected car technology. Meanwhile the safety feature equipped in this concept car helps not just the driver and the passengers but even the pedestrian. It will be powered with either a petrol engine or a diesel version.Read the entire article SsangYong to unveil XAVL SUV Concept at 2017 Geneva Auto Show
Having a 400 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque is a tremendous advantage. Yet Ford hasn’t formally announced the numbers regarding its latest Ford Expedition. The current SUV as we know delivers up to 365hp and 420lb-ft of torque coming from its 3.5 twinturbo V6 power machine.
However, according to Ford Canada’s promotional website, the updated EcoBoost engine is good for at least 298kW and 651 Nm of torque. But then again, there has been no official statement at this point. Ford doesn’t want to talk about it yet either and said that they are still waiting for those numbers to be approved. Considering the numbers were correct, it only means that the new 2018 Ford Expedition will be much powerful than the Lincoln Navigator.
Interestingly, the Ford Expedition’s updated engine will be mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Ford is also offering a choice between a four wheel and a rear-wheel drive system. Aside from those, there are strings of other updates in store for the big SUV such as the revised aluminum body frame, which helped in cutting down as much as 136 kilograms.Read the entire article 2018 Ford Expedition expected to come with a more powerful EcoBoost engine
An SUV that is lavishly comfortable and has a practical nature. That is how we could describe the Mercedes-AMG GLS63. It is easily the S Class of the SUV segment, which makes it among the most generously luxurious utility vehicles in the world. When specified with available options, AMG GLS63 won’t lose easily to other premium seven-seater SUVs in the world, both in terms of luxury and sportiness. Even the price of the AMG GLS63 is already opulent, with a premium of around $30,000 over its Mercedes-Benz GLS550 sibling.
However, the luxurious character of a typical AMG GLS63 pales compared to a recent creation of notorious Latvian auto firm Dartz whose ancestor company was responsible for building luxurious coaches for Russian Tsars. Now, Dartz is continuing this legacy and its own notoriety by offering extra-luxurious creations, the latest of which is the 2017 Dartz Prombon Black Alligator that is based on the AMG GLS63.
Before you make any quick conclusions, this AMG GLS63-based work has been dubbed as the Prombon Black Alligator but it is not just about the looks. Yes, this bespoke creation – judging from the teaser image provided by Dartz – looks like a black alligator ready to pounce on its prey. However, that is not all. This Prombon Black Alligator actually uses alligator skin for its interior – including on its seats and on the steering wheel. Moreover, Dartz seems to be a fan of the “name it, we have it” business philosophy, as it also offers the use of materials derived from the skins of stingrays, sheep, ostriches, crocodiles, pythons and sharks. No wonder Dartz has gained so much notoriety.Read the entire article Latvian carmaker Dartz offers ultra-lavish AMG GLS63-based Prombon Black Alligator
If you are wondering why this Alfa Romeo SUV being shown at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show looks so familiar, wonder no more. Well, it is because it is identical to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV that was unveiled by the Italian carmaker at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.
When we say these models are identical, we mean that they are the same. While Alfa Romeo showed both the base and higher-end versions of the Stelvio in LA, the one shown in Chicago is only the performance variant. Simply put, the version being shown at 2017 Chicago Auto Show sits at the top of the range of the Stelvio SUV model. Welcome, the dynamics-focused Stelvio QV or Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
As far as the looks of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is concerned, it might be easier to describe this SUV as the taller and more practical version of the Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan. This shouldn’t surprise us since the Stelvio SUV has essentially adopted the design language found in the Giulia sedan. The Stelvio also features flowing headlights, muscular wings and a large triangular grille – as found on the Giulia sedan.Read the entire article Alfa Romeo displays 510 hp Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV at 2017 Chicago Auto Show
Quite a number of hearts were broken when a test mule -- believed to be the new Lamborghini Urus -- seen at the Munich airport turned out to be a camouflaged Audi Q7 SUV. However, that didn’t reduce interest in the new Urus and instead, it even caused more people to become curious about Lamborghini’s first-ever SUV.
This time, we are hoping that it is the real Lamborghini Urus that was recently spotted being driven on the roads of Denmark. Pro-street.dk reported the sighting, which involved what’s speculated to be a heavily camouflaged Lamborghini Urus.
With Stefano Domenicali, chief executive of Lamborghini Automobili, saying that the luxury sports car maker would soon unfurl more details about the Urus in the next few weeks, a global debut of the production version of the SUV at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March could be expected. This implies that the camouflaged test mule spotted in Denmark could be the closest final production form of the new Lamborghini Urus. It may even be the actual model already.Read the entire article Camouflaged test mule of the new Lamborghini Urus spotted in Denmark
The new Volkswagen Atlas SUV isn’t due to arrive at dealerships in the United States until spring of this year. Quite a number of people are also excited to get their hands on VW’s new three-row SUV, and that excitement has been further fueled by the special edition of the VW Atlas.

As a full-size sports utility vehicle, the Ford Expedition should really be large and spacious. For the 2018 model year, Ford has made the Expedition full-size SUV larger and more spacious than its predecessor, but there is a big twist to the game of giants – it is much lighter.
Typically, adding size and space would result to an addition in overall weight. But this is not the case with 2016 Ford Expedition – it is larger, roomier and lighter. Of course, the power source underneath remains the same, although Ford has vowed to upgrade it to something better.
For the 2018 model year, the standard-length Ford Expedition is around four inches longer than its predecessor. Its wheelbase has also been increased by around three inches. These increase in measurements should allow this full-size SUV to offer more interior room, including those for the cargo. The roominess of the Expedition’s interior is complemented by its outstanding flexibility.Read the entire article 2018 Ford Expedition is larger, roomier, more powerful and much lighter
