Aston Martin reducing costs by cutting jobs

2012 Aston Martin Virage Coupe

One-third of Aston Martin's workforce has been laid off, as plummeting sales take their toll on the British sports car marquee. The legendary brand will make let go 300 of its permanent staff and 300 temporary personnel. The company employs about 1800 people in the UK. CEO Ulrich Bez said, "Like other premium car brands, Aston Martin has been forced to take action to respond to the unprecedented downturn in the global economy. These are regrettable but necessary measures in the extraordinary market conditions we all now face." Aston Martin is positive that the reductions won't impinge on delivery of its products in the future. It affirms that the layoffs are essential to secure the future of the company.
