Audi A6L 2.7 TDI to make its debut in China

The VW Group in China is offering its hot seller, the Audi A6L, with one of its famous TDI diesel engines -- the 2.7-liter TDI that offers 189hp. The Audi A6L, which is a longer wheelbase version of the popular A6 sedan, sold 8,440 units last July. In the A6L, the engine produces 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) or torque and has an average fuel consumption of 6.8 l/100 km (34.6 mpg U.S.), with prices starting at 488,800 yuan $71,500 U.S.). The VW group has not had much success selling diesels in China. Since 2002, the marque has offered the Jetta SDI, the Bora SDI, the Caddy SDI and the old 2.5-liter TDI engine on the A6. This has all resulted in lackluster sales. Do you think the Chinese would regard the Audi A6L any differently? Stay tuned.
