Audi AG has set a goal to become the world's top automaker of premium cars no later than 2020, according to Audi Chief Executive Rupert Stadler in an interview with Sueddeutsche Zeitung. Audi expects that this year, it will outperform BMW in the luxury sales segment and be number one in the region. Stadler said that the company has realistic expectations. In a previous report, Stadler had already asserted his goal to be the world's top premium car maker by 2015. He also said that Audi believes that for the first half of the year, it will achieve "very good numbers." The full set of results will be announced on July 31. However, he warned that there are bumps along the way. Stadler added that for the moment, cutting the working hours isn’t being considered. Days ago, Daimler AG announced that June sales of Mercedes-Benz luxury cars were at their slowest monthly rate this year. This is because China sales have risen at a so-so rate.
