Audi and Lamborghini expecting to see a profit next year

Pessimists, they're not. Audi and Lamborghini are predicting an end to the market slump in the car industry in 2010. These two VW brands expect to report a profit next year, in light of emerging markets such as in China and a speculated early recovery for the US. To signal Audi's return to positive growth, Audi will have three new models on sale next year the A1, A8, and A5 Sportback. Audi's chief financial officer Axel Strotbek said that global markets will bottom out this year and that a slight recovery is seen in 2010. Audi has much to rejoice about.
It posted record sales in Germany last month with 27,700 units sold, due mostly to the success of the country's scrappage scheme. Aside from China, other successful markets are India and Australia. In 2008, one million global sales were recorded; this year, it's anticipated to reach 900,000.
Eight new Audi models will be added to 32 models it already has. For the luxury market however, CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that there has been no mercy. Lamborghini was forced to impose working restrictions on a third of its 1,000 workers but Winkelmann said that he is anticipating an end to these restrictions very soon. Already, he is seeing some signs or recovery, particularly in China.
