Audi anticipates record sales in 2008

Many of the automakers have been placed on the edge with regards to their finances due to the global economic downturn, but Audi, the German luxury brand, is anticipating having one more year of excellent growth. Audi vehicles are projected to surpass one million units this year, and from this figure it would seem that Audi's aim of vending 1.5 million vehicles by the year 2015 is well within their grasp. Audi's quite discreet CEO Rupert Stadler discussed the impacts that the global economic crisis has had on Audi with Automotive News Europe, and in spite of its success for this year he underscored that the circumstances has affected everyone in one way or another.
Pointing on Audi's success because of its young model range, which comprises of the new Q5 SUV and a large number of other niche versions, Stadler was proud of the company's assortment of vehicles that were proving to be well-liked among buyers even during a market slump.
In spite of Audi's present success; it is still dependent on a number of areas of manufacture on a single provider for important parts. Stadler admitted that if one of these providers would collapse that Audi, like many car companies, would be placed in hot water also. He further explained that, if Audi is to remain on its feet, it must early on detect warning signs for its own protection.
