It's amazing how with this navigation system, you can seemingly drive through a photograph of the streets. The system uses Tegra, a chip developed for mobile services. But for those who prefer the more traditional map image, switching to that type of view can be done easily. The Nvidia technology is expected to debut in Europe next year on the flagship Audi A8 sedan. In an interview with Automotive News, Mathias Halliger, who heads infotainment system development for the brand, said that Audi has yet to decide on whether it will bring the technology to the US. If you're still not convinced of the practicality of this technology, maybe this tidbit will. This system has a separate touch pad that recognizes handwriting. The driver doesn't even have to take his eyes off the road as he draws letters on the pad with a fingertip in order to get information from the system, according to Taner Ozcelik, general manager of Nvidia's Automotive Business Unit.
