As we said last week in this post, Audi is considering a street version of its R8 GT3 racing car which will take on the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3.
For those who don‚Äôt know, the Audi R8 GT3, which carries a V10 engine, won last year‚ FIA European GT Championship in its debut season and due to this fact the German manufacturer was overwhelmed with orders for racing cars this year. Apparently, Audi will deliver 30 cars, more than two dozen it made last year. According to Audi‚ body-in-white chief, Armin Kappler confirmed the fact that one road-going car has already been built for appraisal but a decision on the production has yet to be made. VW Group boss Ferdinand Piech has also seen the road-going car and according to Armin Kappler he did like it, which is good news.
