Audi e-Tron Spyder to debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show

Audi e-Tron Detroit Show Car

As you may know already, Audi unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the e-Tron Concept, a vehicle which previews the upcoming electric sports cars from Audi.

Back in January at the Detroit Auto Show, Audi showed us a second version of the e-Tron Concept which previews the forthcoming R4 sports car. According to German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Audi will unveil a new concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. This new concept will be called e-Tron Spyder and will be powered by two electric motors. And yes, it will preview the upcoming convertible version of the R4 sports car.

The e-Tron Spyder might use the same technology found on the e-Tron Detroit Show car, which was powered by two electric motors delivering a total output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 2,650 Nm (1954.54 lb-ft). With these numbers, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 5.9 seconds while the sprint from 60 to 120 km/h (37.28 - 74.56 mph) is achieved in a mere 5.1 seconds.

The car has a total range of up to 250 kilometers (155.34 miles). Also, the car could be more powerful than the Detroit Show car. As you remember, the first e-Tron Concept unveiled in Frankfurt was powered by four electric motors delivering a total output of 313 hp (230 kW). The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds and from 60 to 120 km/h (37.28 – 74.56 mph) in 4.1 seconds. Total range is 248 kilometers (almost 155 miles).
