As part of plans to increase U.S. volume, Audi of America is forming a new central U.S. sales region that comprises 13 states to assist dealers and customers. Audi said that the fourth sales region, which covers 62 of Audi’s 275 U.S. dealerships, will be situated near Chicago’s O’Hare airport and will open in January 2013. Audi has set a target that before 2020, it seeks to sell 200,000 vehicles in the U.S. From January to September 2012, Audi’s sales in the U.S. have grown 19% to 100,694. The new sales region will take responsibility for several markets currently covered by Audi of America’s eastern, southern and western regions. Over 100,000 Audi cars and light trucks are registered in the new central region. Ken Brusca, who became a part of Audi of America in 2005, was appointed as the central region director. Before this, he served as the operations manager for the eastern region. He also has experience in management at Chase Automotive Finance, Ford Motor Co. and Volvo Cars of North America, where was the Canadian CEO. A spokesman said that Audi will be hiring from outside the company for its new sales region.
