Audi reveals the all-new S3 hot hatchback

2013 Audi S3

This is the all-new Audi S3, company’s latest hot hatch that once again raises the bar and takes the game a little higher. As expected, the car is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine delivering 300 hp and 380 Nm (280.27 lb-ft) of torque, enough to push it from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 5.1 seconds when equipped with the S tronic (5.4 seconds with the manual transmission). Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155.34 mph). When using the S tronic, the S3 needs an average of 6.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (manual: 7.0 liters) [34.09 and 33.60 US mpg], this corresponds to CO2 emissions 159 (162) grams per kilometer (255.89 and 260.17 g/mile).

Regarding the design, the 2013 Audi S3 features a new body kit, comparing it with the standard A3, consisting of a new front bumper, a new front grille featuring the S3 logo, new side sills, a rear roof spoiler and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and four-pipe exhaust system. The design is completed by the 18-inch alloy wheels wearing an S-specific design with five parallel spokes.

Behind these wheels we find internally vented 340 millimeters (13.39 in) discs on the front. Highlights among the 14 colors available for the Audi S3 are the exclusive crystal-effect finishes Panther Black and Estoril Blue. The interior is one of the best we’ve seen and Audi fans know what we are talking about. The Audi S3 will arrive at dealerships in early 2013. The base price in Germany is €38,900.
