Audi TT RS unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show

Audi TT RS

Good news for all Audi enthusiasts: a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder powerplant that produces 340hp has arrived at last! This new powerplant is remarkable and will probably make the TT RS a very efficient machine as far as coupes and roadsters are concerned. Although Audi is paying attention to the 5-cylinder powerhouses of the 1980s with this RS, its 2.5 liter turbo, direct-injection gasoline unit (TFSI) is far from being ancient. This is characteristic of the German automaker, which is quite good at making performance models such as this one.

This is what makes them tick. The powerplant comes with a fuel economy rating of 9.2 liters/100km for the coupe and 9.5liters/100km for the roadster. This are impressive ratings considering the AWD configuration of these models, thanks to Audi’s setup of the 2.5-liter unit paired with a 6-speed auto transmission together with a lightweight RS.

“The TT RS Coupe rockets from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62.14 mph) in 4.6 seconds; the Roadster needs just a tenth of a second longer. The limited top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph) is merely the official figure for both versions; as an option, Audi can increase it to 280 km/h (173.98 mph).” This month in Europe the TT RS will be available for sale.
