Audi unveils the all-new A3 Sportback

2013 Audi A3 Sportback

Audi revealed today the all-new A3 Sportback, the latest version of its compact five-door model that will offer spacious luggage compartment and the same ultra lightweight construction technology. Just like the coupe versions, the infotainment and driver assistance systems set new standards in the premium compact segment. Regarding the dimensions, the new Audi A3 Sportback has a length of 4,310 millimeters, a width of 1,780 millimeters and a height of 1,425 millimeters. The wheelbase now measures 2,636 millimeters (8.65 ft), an increase of 58 millimeters (2.28 in). The design is not new as the car features the same front end as the coupe, but the rear is new and offers split rear lights that underscore its width. The adaptive brake light, which pulses at high frequency during hard braking, is standard. According to the official press release, the A3 Sportback will be available in a choice of 13 colors – three solid finishes, eight metallic finishes and two pearl-effect finishes. The interior features lines and surfaces that are sinuously taut. The instrument panel with its curved front is lean and low. The MMI operating system features a retractable monitor and it is available with the MMI radio and above. The colors in the interior are matched to the trim line. In the A3 Sportback Attraction, the interior is black or titanium gray; the interior of the sporty Ambition line is either all black or black with additional silver, blue or yellow contrasting elements. The two-color Audi design selection capri orange, an exclusive suggestion of the Audi designers, provides access to the world of youthful colors.

The colors pashmina beige and chestnut brown are available with the luxurious Ambiente trim line. Regarding the engines, the A3 Sportback comes with a choice of one TDI and two TFSI engines. The A3 Sportback will receive two diesel engines and one gasoline unit will follow somewhat later.
