Oliver Stein, Audi of America's CFO announced at this year's Detroit Auto Show that the U.S. needs a sedan version of the smallest vehicle, the A3. Also, it appears that the German manufacturer is already working on the sedan version of the A3 (we reported this in this post) and this new car will go on sale somewhere in 2012 as a 2013 model. The new car will share a front-drive-oriented platform with its Volkswagen brethren, but Audi will also offer a Quattro version. Regarding the engines, Audi will definitely offer the popular diesel-, gasoline-powered 2.0-liter engine.
