The carmaker has announced the pricing for the latest Peugeot 308 CC to begin at less than ￡20,000. The 1.6-liter VTi 120 entry level in Sports trim will fetch a sticker price of ￡19,495 when it becomes available this June although the carmaker will be offering 100 special edition versions beginning May ahead of the car's main introduction.
The GT100 models will come with the most potent engine in the range, the 1.6-liter THP 150.
All the GT100 models will receive the top spec GT trim that comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors and the Airwave neck heating system together with special edition GT100 mats, badging and door sills in chrome.
Half of the cars will be black and the other half will be finished in white. The price tag of the 308 CC GT100 is ￡23,595, a premium of ￡100 above the regular GT trim. In between the Sport and GT specs will be the SE trim which comes with an additional 17-inch,, air-conditioning, cruise control and automatic rain sensor and headlamps.
In contrast to the 307 CC, two diesel engines are now available to buyers in the forms of 108bhp 1.6-liter or 138bhp 2.0-liter units. For the HDi 110 Sport, pricing will begin at ￡20,495 and for the HDi GT it will begin at ￡24,295.
The Peugeot 308 CC offers three trim levels -- GT, SE, and Sport. The Sport version comes in the VTi 120 1.6-litre petrol engine and the HDi 110 diesel engines. The petrol engine is priced at £19,495 while the diesel stands at £20,495.
It comes with the usual standard equipment like an exterior body that is fully colored, fog lights on the front, instrument dials in black, the black/grey Sports cloth trim, and the 16" alloy wheels. To ensure the security and safety of the occupants inside, there is the electric folding and retractable roof.
Also included are the unfastened seatbelt detection system, six Smart safety airbags, and the Electronic Stability Programme which has the ABS, EBA, and EBFD. Making the interior convenient and comfortable is the storage located on the center armrest, leather steering wheel, glove box that can be locked with a remote control, and air conditioning.
Helping entertain those inside is the company’s latest Connect Sound RD4-1 Radio/CD player with an audio pack that has 6 speakers and audio remote control. The SE model meanwhile has the same features offered by the Sport with some exceptions like having the 17" alloy wheels instead of 16".
A Visibility Pack is offered that includes automatic headlamps, automatic rain sensing front wipers, and the electrochrome rear view mirror. Other features include the cruise control with speed limiter and the rear parking aid. It has ambient lighting and climate-controlled air conditioning.
Even the alarm is special as it has obtained the Thatcham category 1 approval. Its stereo has been upgraded and is now the Peugeot Connect Sound radio/CD with Aux & MP3 playback. The SE model is priced at £20,395. Furthermore, for the SE model of the 308 CC, Peugeot is offering customers the whole engine range.
These include the THP 140 (with automatic gearbox), THP 150, or VTi 120 petrol engines. Those who get the diesel engines can choose from the HDi 140, HDi 110, or even the HDi 136 with its automatic transmission. The GT model also has extra features of its own.
To start with, there is the 18" alloy wheels, the tire pressure sensor, and the parking aid on the front and rear. There is a leather trim, the company’s Connect HiFi or JBL HiFi pack, and windstop. A temperature controlled Airwave neck heating system comes as standard though this is also available for the SE but only when the leather trim is selected.
The GT model is the most expensive of the three as it is priced at £23,495. Peugeot is also offering the first 308 CC buyers in the U.K. the chance to own the exclusive GT100, priced at £23,595.
Though it is limited to 100 CCs, it still comes with the improved GT specification and the THP 150 petrol engine, the most powerful among the 308 CC range. The GT100 comes in the standard metallic paint but there is the option to have the Pearl White or Nera Black.
The Electric Pack is offered which has the electric seat adjustment. Additional features include the ‘GT100’ chrome door sills, GT100 badging, and the ‘GT100’ carpet mats. For customers who decide to get the GT100, they will receive a personalized leather-bound pack and numbered build plaque.
